Fivepint,

Of course there is an argument that if you are going to use the real world tag, then the real world is defined as follows for road users in this country:
Follow my leader traffic 95% of the time / can only drive at the speed of the car in front / low average journey times ...so what's the point of having a fast car anyway? In the real world it just burns money. Driving it to its potential on the track seems the best way, and there the Focus is better.....allegedly.

Fivepint,

Sorry m8, just saw that you're from Dublin, so I accept that the roads over there are prob a bit quieter than those over here ! In SE England, I think my comment certainly holds good.

Cheers,

Rich

no worries m8 , i see ur point too, but for most on track excursions are few and far between, most of us do sit in traffic Q's where performance means bugger all, i mean if we all spent so much time on track the sensible thing to do would be to buy a westie/cater/elise and a boggo 1.4 focus for the daily hack

Cheers

Sports car, 200+hp, FWD it doesn't add up.
maybe it will be better than a Scoob in optimal conditions but when do you get those?
I'll keep my GT, and save up for an STI...

Re: yada mode - Lots of things beat impreza's in many situations.

If you want outrigtht lap times for £20k, buy a Caterham, or better still build a manic lightweight kit, no production 4 seater will get close. If you want the fastest, rawest 4wd IMHO the EVO wins, although I prefer a scoob for everyday use. If you want a fast ford, and don't mind that it's still the sam car in most ways as your 1.4 CL Focus, get an RS. In some situations it will beat a WRX, in some it will lose. There is no "best" car, just a right car for you. Looks like the RS will be the right car for quite a lot of people, but I don't fancy one. I'll stick with my bugeye, and not even care too much that it isn't an STi.

That balanced enough? Might slip into "yada mode" when it's not silly hours of the morning.
