Millband,
I paddled Darley Abbey nr Derby. Its a bit low at the moment but I have keys for the sluice gates which adds a bit of interest. Looking forward to the winter season there - it becomes a monster. Oh yeah, and nice warm showers and fresh coffee at the club house (makes winter paddling worth while).

Dr Hu,
If you're a bit on the underthin side like me you might want to consider your fore and aft trim, have a friend (or even someone you don't like, it'll still work) watch you paddle and if you are sitting too far forward you'll be creating a too big bow wave, this will make paddling in a straight line a bit harder than normal, if your boat has an adjustable seat, try moving it back a few notches.

555-Shaggy, I used to paddle at Darley Abbey sometimes, I've done slaloms there when I was youngster too. Having the keys to the sluice - nice move ![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)

DJ Fish - funnily enough I found that if I sort of reclined backwards in the seat it was easier............
Howvever I'm pretty sure its a fixed seat.....thanks for the info....It was more comfy reclining anyway!
