Knockhill 28th September - not looking good

Would be good to see you and the 22B again. What a laugh that was in the wet at Kames at the very end of the double header weekend. Hopefully both this and the forthcomming Kames event will still take place, even if the prices rises a bit to compensate (not too much please as I will be on the dole soon). I don't think I have missed any SIDC Knockhill or Kames venet this year and found them great fun. Heard the Karting was also good but finances were stretched enough so couldn't make those.
Going on track for the first time an be a bit nerve racking but once on it it is great fun. Its a far better place to explore your car's capabilities than on the public road. No problems with folk comming the other way, well most of the time anyway. You don't need a modified car either. Mine is just a standard 120bhp Lotus Elise and its fine on both Knockhill and Kames. Does get left behind a bit on the straights at Knockhill, but so what. Its more about just enjoying driving your car with other like minded people. Looks like there will be fewer events next year which is a pity.

Just phoned the dealer and it is expected September - sometime.
Are you getting the paitwork done under warranty? I was going to get the front of my car armourfended but didn't get round to it and now the front of the car has hundreds of white dots over it.

Jason, missed your earlier message for some reason. Skylines are welcome if it helps us get the event running.
David - YHM.
Just to let you all know, that if everyone who has said they would like to do the event books up (please don't drop out now!!), then we are at about 32 cars. Not quite the 40 mark, but getting close. if we get another 8 to 10 cars, then we are sorted

If it hadn't been for both Johns organising both Kames and Knockhill events then I doubt I would ever have discovered track days. Might have saved a few quid on petrol and tyres but would have missed out on some of the best laughs and thrills I can ever remember. Has been a great year and enjoyed meeting so many new faces.
Guess where I was on Wednesday? Tee hee Lotus had a track day at Knockhill and it was great fun. Loads of pictures at the following links, and there is still another 2.5 hours of video to go through. Sorry they are all just Lotus shots, well actually a Porshe did sneak in so did manage a close up of him in the chicane.
Hopefully managed to get the code right in these links

Roll on the 28th September and hopefully it will be a goer. Could always tell folk there is a rolling road session by the chicane. Hopefully you and Ricahrd will make it up. Are you going to the Isle of Man birthday Bash? I suppose I will need to clean my Smartie for that.

Trying to give you as much notice as possible but it looks like I'll be unable to make this date due to some 'go faster' parts being delayed from a supplier I've already sold my existing 'go fairly fast' part so there is a big gap in my engine bay where an intercooler should live.
Will not know for sure until the Friday before the event so best put me as a 'no' just now.
cheers

- Do you want us to extend the invitation to non SIDC folks / non Scoobynet users ? (or even non Impreza drivers ?)
- Quite a few of the IoM crew from Englandshire said they'd consider making the trip - might be worth widening the invitation.

So its going ahead then? Good. It will be nice to see some decent competition on the track after all the scrap at the "Hot hatch" day last Sunday!!!!
Dodge the dust bin day!
Send me an entry form John S. What sort of numbers are you expecting and do you need to be an SIDC member (I am anyway) to go on the track?
Thx.

I've just booked up via the SIDC site so I'll be there. Hoping to avoid the gravel this time 'cos it gave me really really ichy oxters the last time
Now running the link with my very own map now, so if nothing else, expect a big bang and lots of smoke
