Truthfully, any super-powered choral classical (think Old Spice/Omen tune, the theme tune from (I think) euro 98). Crank it up to ear bleeding levels with all the windows down on a brisk morning and the hairs will practically shoot out of your arms. Not only that but you'll get loads of smiles from people who get fed up with hearing boom-chi-boom-chi-boom at sub bass levels!!

Failing that 808 State's Cubik gets me going, along with all the cliched riff-based rock nonesense (Whole lotta love, Smoke on the water etc). In fact the whole of Deep Purple's Deepest Purple does it to me.

Oh I love having an MP3 jukebox in the car...

Saw The Beach Boys greatest hits in Sainsbury's last night: ashamed to admit but I had to buy it.

Going to Swansea tonight: selection for the journey should include some jazz funk (Corduroy, Brand New Heavies etc), a little jazz (Oscar Peterson anyone?) for traffic jams, Nightclubbing by Grace Jones (how fresh does that sound 20 years on?), both Trigger Happy TV CD's (Dom Joly is a man of taste), Chilled Ibiza, Pulp, The Charlatans, Finlay Quaye, etc etc.

And, funnily enough, the greatest hits of The Who.

"Mama's got a squeezebox". Classic..

I find Micheal Jackson and Prince give the old sound system a good going over. Plus a bit of UK Garage.

And don't the door panels and trim vibrate well with anything at barely audible volumes. It's always interesting to see which notes cause the most resonance between the plastic interior and tin can exterior.

Barry Manilow?....Old spice?.....the mark of a man indeed! You got those on 8-track?...

'Hardcore' used to mean bands like Minor Threat, Black Flag, the Descendants and early Husker Du. Now it seems to mean boring morons in silly outfits on drugs. I dunno, I'm getting old...

Dont have a stereo.
Dont even have speakers.
Dont ever want them in my car to spoil the tune from my engine or distract me from my intensive driving pleasure.

The best hardcore dance in the last few years is the New Order track that is the starting song on the film Blade - cant remember what its called

Only really any good if you've spend a few grand on your system though - loads of bass!

I had the French dancing to it in Biarritz the other month - sad - I cranked up the stereo and turned the car into a mobile disco!

Other than hardcore In listen to anything like:

Dr Dre
Eminem
Snoob Dog (some of them are rubbish - but theres some good stuff as well)

Plus a few tracks from Faithless - ie Insomnia, God is DJ and the various mixes of these.

Great fro driving down through France at 150mph!

Forgot to mention Genaside II - Narra Mine, it's an old hardcore tune from '91, ah them woz the days......*sighs*, anyway I must have played it every single day since then and I'm still not bored of it

Need a serious sub to listen to it properly tho'.....I'll fit one one day

A remix? Is nothing sacred??? I'd be interested to hear it tho', can you give me the details please....

It seems that a lot of the old rave tunes from the early 90's are getting remixed now, heard a mix of 'sweet harmony' the other day, quite impressed I go all funny every time I hear a tune from the old days, start tripping down memory lane, from what I remember they were blindin' times

Sal (gone to dig out all the 'old tunes' for some reminiscing!)

I think you are refering to "operation blade" by Public Domain goes "Bass in the Place London!". Not hardcore in the strict sense of the word, more hard house than anything else but a shedload of bass more than makes up for it.

Chiark: Some excellent choices!

[rant mode on]
You can keep your 'hardcore' and all that nonsense for the C***s who drive around town with a 3000W amp in their Nova! makes me want to beat the crap out of their roof in time to the music![/rant mode off]

I get bored with only six CD's in the changer on long drives. Must buy one of those 96 CD carrier pouch thingies so I can carry a few more.

Noooooooooooooo

The Public Domain mix was totally pants, it made me cringe. I think Chiark had the correct one.

Does anyone out there have different mixes to this track? - Confusion

Chiark... I'd better put my Nova, erm I mean Subaru back in the Garage. I dont tend to have the windows down... I have realised when I stare myself that if you do this in a built up area, people think you are a to*ser - unless they like the track, of course

Chiark.. your the one with the UK dark blue car? that went to Northern Meet behind me?

Stevie Ray Vaughan - In the Beginning
Limp Bizkit - Significant Other
Pantera - Vulgar Display of Aggression
Eric Clapton/BB King - Riding With the King
Joe Satriani/Eric Johnson/Steve Vai - G3 Live
Paul Gilbert - Beehive Live
Carlos Vamos - Guitarnica
