Anyone met somebody on the internet..

for what its worth, I have met an absolutely wonderful person that I would never have met in the "real world". So long as you look on it as nothing more than a way of meeting a wider circle of people, thereby giving you more chance of meeting someone special then you cant go too wrong. But it certainly isnt an instant fix. And as an added bonus you can end up with some great stories of psycho hell bitches to share with your mates.

where do i start.... I met a m8 to whom we've met up and attended Leeds & Blackburn matches on a few occasions along with getting completely drunk when we meet up. We've played daft PC games online too.
As for relationships then I split with my wife a few years back. After the split I got together with a lass I'd met online, this was 2 yrs ago and we now stay together, living in sin. I think its wicked but its down to the individual.
I also had a one night stand with someone from the USA and it was mind blowing too.
I'd just do it

Yup! And am now married to her.
It was via Dating Direct, a "proper" dating site, not a dodgy contacts site. IMHO times are moving swiftly in changing people's perception of the internet, for both dating and chatting.
SS, give it a whirl. You can (and I have) meet some weirdos, but they're great to laugh about/at

I met my 'ex' Linzi on the net. She was from Dallas and we talked for about 6months before I finally flew out there and met her. We had a great time and all bode well for the future. She came over to see me and again a great time was had but alas, at the end of the day , it didn't feel right to pursue this one.
Bottom line is, I had a experienced another country and saw all the bits that tourist don't (cos I was with a local) and I will always have a place to crash if I want to go over there. What was best was the reaction of everyone I knew when I told them about her - there isn't so much of a stigma attached anymore.
DP.

I know of two different stories of people meeting over the net.
1. Was in the local paper about a year ago about a local bloke who moved to America to live with a woman he had met over the net. He'd not been over there long when she was arrested by the cops, turns out she was a real "pyscho ####ed-up hell bitch" and had remains of her previous boyfriend in her freezer.
2. The son of the wages clerk at work met his wife over the internet (again from America). They had a huge wedding in the States last year.
So an example of the good and bad experiences possible

On line, real-life no difference, go for it. The fact is on-line is the modern real-life, society is changing and so ways of meeting partners is changing.
Meet up and take it from there, don't feel it is an anorack thing to do its normal.
