Hehe we should post pics of our tattoos to see who has got what. Mine is only small but is a sort of tribal design taken of the album cover for RHCP - Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik - the one Flea has on his right pec.
Simon.
P.S. Chelle - not just saying that so we can all see your butt cheeks

I will try and borrow my housemates digital camera. Its pretty detailed and took 1hr 15 mins to ink by which time by arm was pretty numb and felt like it was going to fall off......

I resisted getting one all through my time in the Army and then when I left it was suggested by my good mates that we get the same one, this being the Derby County symbol with St Georges Cross in the middle. I thought it was a good idea at the time!!!
Hurt like hell, nearly passed out. Although I don't regret getting one, because you should try everything once (With a few Sexual exceptions) make sure you get the right one. I have a very respectable job and now sometimes I look like a right thug.

Both of mine hurt like hell and I drew blood biting my arm whilst they were being done.
The pain is mainly a very hot stinging pain, which isn't that bad in small doses, but when done continuously for an hour tends to grate on you a tad

agreed they do hurt, but more of an annoyance than anything bigger. I find the worst parts are the continuous need to wipe the excess ink as they are doing it along with the outline work, this is very painfull, esp if you are having tribal stuff..... parts made me bite my lip, and I am a big tuff guy (apparently)! I have seen some peple run out of the studio before work starts and have seen some people passwout half way through (I thought I was gonna wet myself laughing!).
In total I my tats took over 6-6.5hours thats a long time when you dont really have anything to do apart from conctrate on that needle!

On blokes you really need to have the correct build, a full tribal on a skinney guy with no muscles would look awful, put the same tat on a well built bloke and it will suit very well.
Tatoos only hurt if you are sceptical about having one, if you REALLY want it pain is not an issue

Down boy!
Yep must admit it starts out almost ticklish but once you get near the half hour mark it starts to smart, past the hour and its hurting. I can only relate it too having a needle scraped across your skin continously for an hour +. It definetly does hurt and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying or hasnt had one.
I guess the first is the worst as you are always worried after all the horror stories and myths about having a tattoo done.
Simon.

I went along with a friend who had one done. We spent an hour looking through various designs as I wanted a winged unicorn due to my love of science fiction and horses. I found one I wanted and waited for a tatooist to become available.
All during the tatooing of my *** he checked to see if I was okay and passed me tissues for the blood on my wrist
Afterwards I could brely fecking sit for three days
The tattoo didn't scab badly at all and within 5 days was looking good
My second one was longer due to the vibrant colours!!! I had a tattoo to resemble my star sign, but had two dolphins instead of fish. I had a different friend with me this time who chickened out of the one she was going to have.
I knew what to expect this time so I wasn't that bothered, over the hour mark though I was wanting to kick the tattooist every time he stopped to get some more ink

Can't believe I missed this one
Got two, a tribal dolphin and a tribal wolf on each upper arm.
Second one took about 1.5 hours and has a lot of outline, but as POC said, if you really want it it doesn't hurt that much.
Be careful, once you start you may get hooked!
Not that Spud would compalain

Have to agree with Diablo on the addiction.!
I had a smaller tribal design done a couple of weeks ago at the centre / base of my spine. That one didn't hurt too much, it was the touch up job of the existing one right across my back across the hip bone that really hurt!

due to addictive nature...im damn lucky i have a phoebia of needles. no chance of a tatoo on this baby.
gonna go against the theme of the thread...and probably get **** on for this....but i dont really like tatoos. i think they look cool on young tight skinned people but horrible on old people.
but thats just my opinion.

I am already thinking of having another tattoo!!! I was walking in Swansea the other day and spotted a very nice winged unicorn rearing design on a female's left shoulder. I really wish I had gone up to her and asked where she had it done
I would also like a dragon, but that will take me a we while to pick a design, I might actually use one that I have sketched in my art book

Thats the problem....they are addictive!! I finally told my dad 9months after I had mine done...dropped it into conversation in the middle of a resturant, he couldn't make a scene hehehehe

Good thing about having one that you've done yourself is......no one else will have it, EVER.
I know that I would be gutted if I ran into someone with the same design as me bit of a same dress syndrome
Go get it done

I don't have any, though I was considering a nice henna shark tat for the camping trip! but forgot! doh!
Would I have any? hmmm, not sure, don't think so. maybe some tribal type one? not sure.
As to wether I like them on others, well, I've no probs with them. OK there are the stereotypical tatted up males and females, but hey that's life aint it. I have no problems with them to be honest, and quite a few of my friends have them. And yes, some tats, eg; design and/or location on a girl can be rather sexy.
