Palmersport trackday results. So Cossies are slow and dont handle....?

the floorpan is almost the same you mean.
The escort cossie uses a shortened 4x4 floorpan (built by Karmann in germany) resulting in shorter wheelbase and lower polar moment of inertia. Which means better handling for tight twisty stuff, but less stability on faster open cornering.

All these comparisons are bollox anyway.
If you like your car, that's it.
I like my little old rover 214, but because I can go without filling the tanks for ages longer than the scoob, not too quick on track though (the rover in paticular).
Hot lap runs are even more bollox. I karting I had 2 qualifying laps, if was damp the morning the first ones to go were fooked. But even then we had 2 days prior to set up for those 2 laps.
In fact, everything is bollox, just walk.

I may be mistaken but I think you'll find the Porsches are in a lower GT class i.e. GT2 and are lower on power and the Maclaren and Lister are in GT1 class but for some reason they still race on the same track. Kinda like putting Formula 1 cars and Formula 3000 cars in the same race. That may explain the difference in speed. Like I said if you had to take your pick Escort Cossie, Golt GTi or 911 GT2. Hmmmm....let me think about that one

Cossie, take a look at some of the other results fro that trackday, Exiges killing ultimas and modded skyline r34s - errr dont think so.. all sorts of variables come into it, hence why Andrew Kirkaldy in a stock s2000 beat varying exotica - he is a superb driver tipped for formula 1 (i can testify to this as ive been in twin seat racecar round that track with him in the wet and nearly died of fright)
As i said in earlier post, i wasnt there so i wouldnt like to comment, but i will be seeing some of the guys from palmersport on saturday, so i will ask them, and let you know.

cO55ie get your facts straight.... the Porsche GT2 time was recorded on an entirely seperate occasion, in the damp!!!! Ask martin how fast Porsche GT2's are.... he will tell you... On slicks around that track on that day, I'm pretty sure that Tiff would do martin with only 330bhp. With his new engine however Martin will blow it away

Gotta say Co55ie that it seems that people like you give us fellow cosworth owners a bad name.... spewing false facts and figures and not really knowing what you are going on about. Porsche GT2's are weapons... ever seen a Porsche GT1 road car as well? love to see you beat that around Bedford. Also check out the Ring times of Techart, Ruf and Gemballa Porsches.... mental cars. You seem to have a real problem with any car that doesn't have a Ford Badge. I don't (also gone 3mins dead around Bedford in that car you really hate, Boxster!!) Martin has owned Scoobys, Elises and still has a Skyline, Sean also owns a Subaru Forrester Turbo S.... Chill out, real car enthusiasts respect and appreciate other cars as well.
