If anyone that owns one of these lives near Hertford let me know, I'd like to take a look (and maybe you can take me out for a spin
) sometime as I'm thinking about changing car, and it's on the list of possibilities.
Cheers,
Steve.

Jap Spec Sti's will do 60 at around the 5 seconds mark
The 2 door Type R's which are lighter and have the close ratio box will do it in the mid to high 4's. My Type R has a few slight mods which gives it about 30bhp over a standard Type R so should be a bit quicker still although the quickest I have done is about 5 seconds dead as I like my clutch too much![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
I may be changing my clutch to an AP one in a couple of months so may take my car to the Pod and get my fun out of the old clutch before I change it and do some proper timed runs.

mozzaITA, yeah I'm in Hertford, have a white Eunos Roadster with a Japanese rising sun flag on the back. I've seen a black Pulsar in Hoddesdon/Broxbourne, yours?

The GTi-R dakar is the special light weight edition, It has a stripped interior, no electrics and steel wheels, no back wiper either.
Gear box is close ratio and it is separate from the clutch so if one goes caput in a rally, they don't have to take both bits apart.
A dakar GTi-R standard (apart from zorst) is slower to 60 that the standard one, but it will run the 1/4 in 12.6 (I have witnessed this in person), to a standard R's 1/4 in 14.00.
Hope this helps,
Graham

uxg,
I have the AP in mine at the mo, it's a good bit of kit.Holds the power well and good for every day driving.
I like the two door ty Rs there the only ones that get close to a moded R. But watch that oil pump!!!!!!!

Markus - Good luck to you, the more boost and power your car has, the harder it becomes to launch, so have fun.
I never felt that I got the most from my GTiR. I felt the car was good for mid 11's, but the clutch was slipping on the day of racing.
Bruce's will run a 10 second quarter mile in the future, when he finally gets the thing finished.

i used to own a pulsar gti-r, most people would drive really close to me, at first i thought they were up for a race, then i looked a bit closer and realised they were actuley trying read the badge on the boot to identify what it was.
a mad looking car, which only requires a set of 17"oz's to sort the looks. mt gti-r's performance dropped off as soon as the "interwarmer" had been to work. if i had kept it, a front mount would have been a go.
i had a few races in my time, the greatest accolade was when a 911 turbo only a few years old tried to lose me. that was fantastic to see the look of schock and disgust with a little anger as i kept up especially on a rather large roundabout in bournemouth.
we got to 80mph or so and he was gettin dangerous so i left him too it. i had mild mods (boost valve, susp, induction kit)
any way ramble, ramble, back to work!

Mad4it-wasn't knocking you-I'd take starts steady too if I'd broken 3 gearboxes
.What clutch did you have fitted to it as I'm thinking of swapping mine again and also have my eye on a 9lb flywheel to be done when PAR gearset is fitted?
Dakar model apparently tops out at 127mph an owner who'd checked told me,so not too shoddy midrange
The box is no stronger than standard though as I looked into getting one.

As someone that had a Primera GT for three years before getting a scoob I was very interested in earlier comments from someone trying to compare the two.
There is no comparison as far as I'm concerned although I was very impressed with the GTs handling, braking and fuel consumption even when thrashed. Scoobs beat them hands down on everything else but the GT did have an impressive top end for its class and still handled impressively enough at 120+ - at 130+ I think its fair to say you were praying and hanging on for dear life. Also a mightily impressive acceleration at top end if you dropped down from 5th to 4th for some oooomph.
Funny thing is if they were still making them I'd be driving around in one now and would never have had the pleasure of the last 6 months with my MY01WRX.
Trying to compare apples and pears as far as I'm concerned - a very impressive apple and a very impressive pear.

LOL yeah I've been contemplating changing my oil and fuel pump to hopefully reduce the chances of something going bang. I'll probably try to get to the Pod nearer the time when I am getting the AP put on. That way I can thrash my old clutch and then get it swapped out for the AP. Are you a part of the Japukmeets convoy going up to Trax from South Mimms?

Markus - no offence taken mate, just givin advice.
Picked up the Scooby today, and very pleased. Have a problem holding the boost though, so have ordered a Dash 34 Actuator, which should be a lot better than the HKS one that we are using at the moment.

I might run the 0 - 60 at Trax on Sunday, but only possibly.
I guess that the next time I run the car will be at 10 of the best 2.
Need bigger injectors. Just about to order 750's. Good for 400bhp, and lots of rubber on the track.
What about yourself?

They did promise me they would contact me for the next series, but I wont hold my breath.

Sorry, lost the original thread no doubt, but just to say that, although regardless of how fast'ish the Sunny GTR is, it makes the the Scooby look like the good taste car design event of the year. Love child of Max Power meets Halfrauds
You aren't going to pull in that, sorry
