Right Ladies, sponsorship forms will be E Mailed today. They were delayed whilst I twisted arms over nominated charities.

The majority of the profit from the event will now be donated to Nicks local hospitals. Roughly a third each

However a some cash will be donated to help buy a walking frame for Jamie Harris. He is the son of a Stock Car Driver and he suffers from Cerebral Palsy. As a result he cannot walk or sit unaided. Jamie is a very bright and happy little 3 year old as a result of his disabilities he requires a lot of help and specialist equipment. A special walking frame will hopefully give him some independence.

Sorry for the blatant plug folks, but maybe it will help open wallets.

On a less positive note, and the reason I've been drinking coffee and thumbing through Auto Trader since around 3 a.m.

Two of our cars have been sold and their proud new owner refuses to be parted from them.

And worse still

The local youths, always ready to help a good cause, have torched two of our cars. Including the performance classic I'd planned to drive, a Lada Riva

So if anyone can source replacements, within reasonable travelling distance let me know.

We will be at Jap Innovations(Oldham)tommorow Sat/Sun to start preparing another four cars any assistance will be welcome.

Afraid the forms, or their producer, are averse to new technology
So will be handed over at NM7 or for those not attending text or mail a postal address.

Sorry too busy sorting a new set of firewood for the locals to sort the glitches

Just finished a separate forum just for this event on behalf of Barry, and once tested (and approved by Barry) i will post up the URL here.

It is only a quick BBS to help with communication, event info, sourcing cars/parts etc.

Will post URL later today.

Barry - have you got me email? Not sure if I spelt it all correctly.

Question

How fireproof do the overalls have to be, ie will "overalls" do?

Cool

I do believe that overalls have to be fairly flame resistant as opposed to retardant - hopefully I have got that the right way round!!! In other words, they don't have to be Formula One level overalls!!!!

Retardent, resistent or most probably retarDED in our case.

They would be happy with "welders overalls" which is probaby the lowest possible spec. But we will get by with a couple of people wearing overalls they "found" in a Ford workshop.

Did you get the form little Miss, and what was all that last night about being sponsored to put knickers on the car?

Surely they should be thongs

I think Barry is busy welding cars, so I will take the initiative on the BBS front.

Here is the URL of the forum I set up today. Basically it is there as a means of communicating with Barry throughout this week, and all of us digging in to help him with the organising, so feel free to register if you are going on Monday, and we can have a bit of banter going pre-event.
