The Best and Worst scooby dealers

Cheam Motors got my vote for servicing and spares, always willing to try and help me out. Shame about the "Acting" Service Manager though
Had bad experiences with a certain Surrey outfit, but I'm assured they've improved alot since the days I used them. I hope so, coz my Saab is due for a service there.

No beans to spill. Cheam Motors website still has Andy listed as 'acting' Service manager. Been that way ever since Steve left. 'bout time Richard gave him a pay rise and made him a 'real' Service Manager

Always found Monty's in Sheffield to be helpful, especially Paul in the Service Dept. Nothing too much trouble, and always on hand for warranty work - not too sure about the Justy courtesy car though :0) Makes you appreciate the WRX all the more I guess!

Have posted this before but here goes again. Mainland of Widnes (Cheshire/Lancs) are the only dealers i've been to in these areas who are NOT self opinionated toss pots. Can't comment on Rochdale though (they seem alright). Mainland have offered me a go in a MY02 STi with PPP fitted while i was passing one day Danny in the garage is a top bloke who knows his stuff. All the lads are keen to help and don't drop you like a sack of sh*t when you've spent some money. They bent over backwards to help me when i got my WRX. Thanks guy's, top customer service (and from a new dealer too)

The only dealer I have had experience of are the now infamous Sparshatts of Botley. Had my 45k service done there but was disappointed that after spending £850 odd quid I was not offered a courtesy car and my car was not even washed
The actually came to pick my car up from home which was ok but as they left their car there (a clapped out old cavalier diesel with a zillion miles on the clock) I thought I'd at least be able to use that. I was informed otherwise (used it anyway ).
Saying that the work was carried out to an acceptable standard and I got it back the same day.
I've also bought a couple of parts from them which they have sent to Sparshatts of Havant which is near where I work, and when I ordered the wrong bit once they just sent the right part the next day. But I went into this dealer (Havant) before buying my Scooby (privately) and left all my details and what I was looking for but they have never been in touch
On the whole I just try to avoid dealers where possible!

Stan Palmers of Carlisle have dealt with my complaints and requests in the past equally and superbly when i owned my MY 98 turbo, so well i`ve part-exchanged it for an STi 7 which i pick up on Wednesday ( can`t wait ) so i`ll be able to rate them on that and after-sales care quite soon.

Having brought my STi7 from Sparshatts of Botley (gave the best price on my trade in) and having had the first service done there I can say that the scoob will NEVER go back !!!!!!
Mill Lane in Basingstoke - Brilliant !! They know the meaning of customer service and they really care! Gets my vote everytime.
Well worth the drive up from home, which btw is only 10 minutes from Sparshatts.

Parks of Exeter. Sales chap I dealt with now sells Merc's but he was good enough to get me from £12k with service jistory to brand new though I made him suffer on the extras!
Service boys - Cheap, reliable, helpfull always get a courtesy car or a lift and they even washed inside and out when I had some warrenty work done. Also know their stuff - picked up a handbrake prob and have agreed to fix under warrenty.
They make crap coffee though...

Excellent - Simpsons of Swindon - bought one car from them, and bar a couple of issues they've always given fantastic service. If something does go wrong they work with you to sort it out.
Shame they couldn't beat import price for my second car, but they're still doing a stunning service looking after it for me

Cheam motors, excellent service, very freindly and they seam to know their stuff, prices seem OK.
Only bad point was one non answered email I sent to them about a parts enquiry, ending up phoning them after a week.
Recommend them.

Lancaster Sevenoaks... bought my first subaru there, not impressed with sales, less impressed with service, gave them a second chance when I got my new Impreza, couldn't be bothered to call me back after a test drive and me telling him I deffo wanted one...
Gatwick Cars Crawley, ended up having the first Impreza serviced there (coz Lancaster were so poor), very helpful, pick it up in the morning provide courtesy car if required (I have to insure it) so I bought my new Impreza there. Bent over backwards, kept me informed all the time and gave me a VERY good deal. Very impressed

HKSUbaru - you asked why 3k was knocked off my second sport. Cos it was in 2001 and the sport I bought was MY00 (which i MUCH prefer) so they were £12500 rather than £15500 new cos they wanted to get rid of old stock.

Spashatts.
IMHO
poor service in my experience- superior attitude also intensely irritating.
tried for parts and was pushed around depts to start with, followed by above nature of reponse.
tiresome, will not bother again.
