Dave, roughly how much did all these mods cost for your RS ? I once had a R5 Turbo's brakes/exhaust upgraded (plus a superchip) and those minor mods cost over £500, and that was in 1992 !!!

Cheers,
Steve

Cool

Nearly £7,000 on upgrades, plus the bits and pieces you always forget as you paid for them "on the fly", plus the original car and any other extras you pretend to ignore as incidental as the project develops.

Do you and Mr (respect) Rainbird howl at the moon on a regular basis

Seriously, I can't make the Suffolk get together but look forward to seeing some alternate machinery at an SIDC track day if you guys can get there

Yex - glad my Scoob doesn't require that much spent on it....yet

Stef,

Thats what i meant
I dont think you'd get much of a thrill racing a chipped RST

Anyway, are we gonna organise a date in the future for this duel? Or just wait to see what comes up??

And if your a cossie killer, i have a pal who may have a death wish to test that title out

Nope mate

202 on race powers rollin road
185 on Dartford tunings (but my actuator was worn)
210 on dartford tunings rolling road with new -31 actuator but with rev limiter bypassed
and 197 on Power Engineerings rolling road

do you want me to fax you the power graphs?
(the dartford tuning one wont come out well cause it was printed on that s-h-i-t glossy, supermarket reciept size graph.

These power runs wer done within 2 months of each other

Orville: "Seriously though, most Scoob driver don't go out with the intent of racing everything in sight."

Yah. Uh, well, you're probably right in that there are many Subaru owners that don't race everything in sight (such as that worthy old adversary, the 318i). But I don't think there are many like that on this board .

Hell, I don't even race taxis, because all I need is for one stupid Sydneysider to step into the road as I give it a quick squirt off the lights to get into the lane I want, bounce him/her off my bonnet, and go to jail. Australian jail.

Then again, mowing pedestrians down in the UK doesn't seem to attract much of a fine these days, so maybe it's OK.

You reckon mate????

I have a print out for 202brake when it just had a chip, K&N , magnex, piper cam, hybrid turbo
and 14 psi of boost.

I think ill get more than 8 brake once ive got a 1.9 low comp block/mahle pistons
charge cooler / 5th inj / 22 psi and more.

If you really believe that then put your ££
were your mouth is and ill show you a print out once its run in of over 240 brake..

yeah?????

I would love to get it on the track (ive never done a track day b4) Ive just spoken to Power Engineering and they reckon ill be seeing around 260 brake.
I know ive spent a lot and people think im crazy , but that just makes me more determined. Im thinking of changing the management system , but im probabbly gonna sell it in the next 2 years to finance a (yep im gonna say it!!! ) Scort Cossie!!
But bearing in mind im only 19 , my insurance will be a bitch

And if i sell it , i wont get back what ive put in to it. But thats not really what modifying is all about.

but like i said , once its run in im well up for some track action. It should be a good laugh

Alrighty Davey Ravey RS Turby!!!!

If your car's got 260 bhp (exactly the same as mine), and it's sooooooo fast in a straight line ('cos it's definitely pants round bends) why don't you bring it to The Pod in a couple of weeks and humiliate a few more Scoobs?
I normally save my energy for Cossies, but I'll make an exception just for you!

Hi Dave,

As you're thinking of getting an Escort Cosworth next, is it because it's the fastest production car with a blue oval made in the last few years, or because you've considered other cars like the Integrale, Scoob, Quattro and thought the Cosworth was the best ?

Stef, i get the car back on the 12th, and it needs to be run in fully!!!
so i very much doubt id be able to bring it to the pod then. With any luck ill be doing some major weekend driving around england so set up a date in a months time and were on!!!

And for an RST it is *soooooooo* fast in a straight line .

I feel honored that you want to take up a challenge as low as an RST.

By the way, what chariot do you ride in???

Dave A.K.A still runnin in! but not scared

Grief,

Ive always loved the look of an escort cossie. i am a ford man at heart (of all the nearly 3 yrs ive been driving )

apart from the fact that they are tuneable near on up to 500 brake, look the dogs danglys and go like stink, its a car that ive always said to myself "ill have one, one day"

Dont get me wrong, i love the look of the 3 door scoob turdo's but realisticly speaking, ive got more chance doing a sub 12 sec run at the pod in a uno turbo than i have of affording one of those.

Dave A.K.A wish i had a cossie

Dave.

It's not the challenge of an RST that's appealing, it's an RST with 260 bhp!!!!!
Mines just a standard UK car with breathing mods.
