Dougster, ok mate, hung around old inn's shell garage until 11:10 then headed off with a couple of scoobs that passed by, must have just missed you's. Fuel Surge !!! is there anything you can do to prevent this as it's quite nasty when it happens, p.s. i was in the dbm with gold speedlines.

Scoobywannabe, i'll take you for a spin with a real driver next time, one who can stay on track hehe lol. yeah, jamie is a right jammie jit with that jacket, tried to sell it to me for 50 quid.

Cool

Sense a lot of anger towards the instructors driving like retards and being excessively hard on the plant. Would appear they need to watch and learn from Mike Wood and see how to do it properly at KH; very cool, very fast, hanging out nicely on the corners, and most of all very cool and polite to other track users.

Would I would say is this; Sound like we may back T&C in to a corner, where future events could well be for Demo cars and Instructors driving only, especially if we demand an apology on this board from them. Suggest any complaints be aimed towards the folks at KN.

I trust our friends at T&C will use good judgment and, if required, get to the bottom of it. Note; there is nothing cheap about corporate events like the one T&C just did. I understand they don’t get the same sharp prices John S always secures for us with the SIDC.

So apart from the KH nutters on the track how was the rest of the day out?

Aye, that was me
Just behind me at the first session?
I wasn't behind you for long

(For clarity, this wasn't 'cos I was faster, it was 'cos I managed to stay on the track)

Anyone but me see the Evo and the Exige crash round the back of the course?

Dunno if the Exige owner visits here but I hope there wasn't too much damage to the rear of his car after he bounced off the tyre wall!

And Mr Evo driver, how the hell did you miss that Scooby? The was fecking close!

Question

sKunk, nope, never even heard anything about it.

Dougster, are you going to put a letter together to send to Knockhill (and maybe T&C)?

It happened between 5:30 and 6pm and my mates and myself (and 2 marshalls) were the only people round the back of the course.

I think the Exige driver needed new pants after his spill

Did the Evo just narrowly miss a silver scoob?

I came round the corner after it happened and the Evo was still in the middle of the track.

P.S. the bumpsteer mod. certainly promotes that little bit more over-steer!

Yeah, just missed a silver scoob. It was a really close one

What car were you in? I might have you in some crappy looking video footage I captured with my digital camera. Didn't capture the spills though, we'd ran out of batteries for the video camera during the Evo spill and the batteries ran out on my digital camera just as the Exige took the corner which lead to its spill. I was so annoyed

I'd actually been up at KH for an offroad 4x4 day and I had no idea there was an SIDC event on, lucky me I've got loads of footage of offroad action but little of the action on the circuit itself unfortunately.

What colour was the Exige? I can see quite a lot of crap on the track in the photo above. Swa the video of the P1 that deposited it there. Sounds like it was an eventful day. Shame I missed it, though probably glad I wasn't on track for a change.

Iain, there was rubbish all over the track all day.

Picked up a stone about the size of a pool ball coming clean out of the hairpin. Anyone behind me would have had a nasty one!

As for the previous photo, I was taking your prefered line through McIntyre's!

At least you had an excuse though, trying to avoid the crap all over the track. You do however get quite a nice view of the cars comming down Duffas from there though not really recommended as a scenic viewpoint.

That looks a pritty good piccie fae that angle, but i remember u coming out of the pits round the right hander round the left hander and **** out big stly at the next right hander and your piccie looks like when u re-joined the track

I see u took a few laps for the confidece to come back.

But hey at least u went out (before any 1 else said it)

Got a couple of good piccies for u thought.

I think that was me on the way in!!

Back end all over the place first few laps. Upped the pressures a bit and stayed out of the gravel for the rest of the day.

Hope the guys who had bigger offs are OK and damage minimal.

Scoty and I also forfeitted our sure thing "show'n'shine" prizes for a run on the track.

I heard that the guys who won it hadn't washed their cars in a fortnight!!!

Unhappy

Dougie,

I seen that RB5 after the incident in the pits. Damage was fairly minimal to be fair, the N/S/R bumper strip was slightly hanging off plus there was some tyre scuff marks on the tailgate and light cluster. The bumper had already been re-mounted and looked OK but required a respray. No bodywork damage was visible but I don't know about behind the bumper.

This guy was very lucky indeed.

Jools,

are you implying that I don't wash my car very often

I did actually wash it on the Saturday, but 100+ miles in the rain to get to KH left it a bit on the dirty side, enough for someone to write something on the boot in the dirt! Cheeky beggers

Red face

John,

Writing on the boot lid in the dirt! Don’t think I like that idea much.

Kind of stuff you associate with ice cream vans and delivery trucks, not a £28K motor car. Hell, I get upset when the kids push the rear doors closed with the palm of their hands on the door panel, instead of using the bloody door handle...far less writing on the damn thing.

Cheeky Beggers, not half!

I agree with what you guys are saying about the KH drivers, I was about to get a shot in the WRX when the "head" marshall pulled the grey STI from T&C and started going off at him for gunning it under waved reds. That sort of mistake it for rank amateurs not so called "professionals".
On the other side of the coin I did love the test drives I got aroung KH but I could see how it was slightly irresponsible of the KH drivers.

I say more events like this, they are the way forward.

Cheers.

Thumbs down

Continuing the trend for the day I was changing the batteries in my camera when the RB5 had its moment. I heard the screech of tyres and looked up to see it sliding backwards across the track, it was barely moving when it reached the tyres, just bad luck it ended up in the position it did. I never bothered mentioning it before incase there was any serious damage, but as it seems not:

Funny thing that Rob, when I saw the above, you were the first thing that crossed my mind.
Can't be your old car mate...it would know it's way around KH on it's own!

Hope all is well with the RB5 owner and that the damage is not too much, nor too hard on the pocket.

Really annoyed I missed this. Was at a wedding in Kirrie on Sat and was coming thru from Dundee on Sun. Weather was awful on motorway with a lot of water lying so decided just to go home to FW.
Then it cleared up. Aaaaargh.
Oh well maybe next time.
