You muppet, I give you 2 URLS from Nissan and GTR.co.uk stating it's 1540kg for the R34 and you don't believe me. Beemerboy comes along and pulls numbers from nowhere (seemingly) and you want to believe him.

And it's Skyline owners that are the dreamers?

The following URLs also have the R34 Skyline at ~1500kg :

http://www.nissanskyline.info/skyline_specifications.htm
http://www.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/news/r34articlemain.html
http://www.nissan-global.com/GCC/Japan/NEWS/20000828_0e.html

The R33 was heavier though, by about 50kg.

My R34 Skyline came from Middlehurst too.. and I know enough about Middlehurst to not believe anything they say.

BeemerBoy, shut it, I've spent more time in Skylines and Imprezas than you've spent in long trousers.

Oh dear I think Mr Brown is getting aa tad annoyed

the R34 must be 1540kg... to be honest I dont really care anymore....

The Scoob and Skyline are both great cars..... were all lucky to get to drive them - most cant afford them so have to dream..

For me its just a bit of fun - I only drive the car a few thousand miles a year...

Dont want this to be getting too heated all for nothing really

Thinking about it some more.. the UK cars (of which there were 80 - I had the last Bayside Blue) may have been 1660kg, as they came equipped with extra oil coolers, different interiors, and some other gizmos.

So perhaps they are both 1660kg (80 UK cars) AND 1540Kg (the rest)

Cool

Yeah,
The muppets are out again. Stick to the muppet forum and stop turning this thread into something lockable.

David Brown, GT3 player? LOL! If only they knew the half of it.

Spudgun, I'm interested as to why you are so disapointed in the Skyline, it's a shame considering how quick yours was.

As for needing 550BHP in a Skyline to enjoy it, you have extremely high expectations. With 420BHP in mine, there is very little on the right road that can touch it, it really is almost more than I'll ever need.

An unmodded subaru legacy in reverse with it's handbrake on could have your car according to these people.

Cem, I still want a go in your skyline if I ever turn up at the same meet as you.

PS - if you can't make constructive comments, not even the muppets want you

cem
its not that i was dissapointed at all. it was my fault really. i was looking for a faster more powerful version of an impreza (great acceleration, but grippy and safe in the wet).
i spent a bomb on the car to get the oomph, loved it to bits, but ultimately , it wasnt the right car for ME. it just didnt suit what i like to do with a car in the end.
i am still seriously considering getting an r32(cheap as chips ) to go with my evo, and getting to work on that, but that will be be for 1/4 mile stuff etc, and the odd day out.

my evo is currently 387bhp (done on a hot day too) and 298bhp at the wheels. i am in no way intimidated by ANYTHING on the roads. sure, in a straight line there are plenty of cossies/skylines out there that will kick my ****, but throw a few bends in, and its a different story, especially in the wet.

i do respect your opinion on this cem, after all youve owned 'em all too....you went one way, i went the other, and we're both happy with what we got, which is how it should be

its not the bhp or torque a skyline produces its the fact that no other production car can match it for cornering, modding or anything else its a true supercar in standard form or when altered will leave virtually everthing and top end will go thru the roof because i nearly bought a r33 but instead went for a scooby because of insurance and the fact that i thought people would want the car more than me

Spudgun,

Agree completely. I still think that my 320bhp Makinen was faster to 100 than my Skyline with 100bhp on top. I did find the evo throttle basically an on/off switch and, boy it was hard work!

But I digress, different folks, different strokes.

I was at the ten of the best this year and the Skylines were awesome , 600/700+bhp, i mean fast, don't know what some of you people call fast!!

don't know about the 400bhp thou power to weight wouldn't be that good to be honest.......266.6bhp per tonne

where mine is 347bhp per tonne and i don't class my car as fast sorry, no offence ment just giving an example

Cool

Its not just about PWR, my R33 weighs 1530kg has circa 400bhp, my impreza weighed 1235kg and had circa 300bhp, the skyline is faster in every respect, thats not to say it is faster than 400bhp scooby, but it is 175+mph fast, and 0-60 in low 4's, which I'd say is fast!

Next up for me ~550bhp which should cost me about the same as 350 bhp in a scooby, ho hum!

Blow Dog -- surely 0-100mph is the most important part? I don't know about you, but I spend very little of my time above 100mph.

I guess the Skyline weight issue is why I'd prefer an NSX. OK, they're virtually untunable in NA trim, but they weigh a lot less than a Skyline and cost similar money. You can get supercharger and twin turbo conversions for them too

That's not to say I won't end up with an R33 though
