gotta agree with you there carl, to me up to 100 is THE most important bit. anything after that is a serious risk to my liscence
mind you, a lot of the guys on the gtr bbs like the top speed stuff, dyno runs etc etc, so its a different kettle of fish

to me, going from 0 to a 100 as quickly as i can and hairing round some bends(on a private road ) is THE best fun with my clothes on

carl, if your hearts in the nsx, get the nsx after a while, you get used to any cars power, whether its a scooby or a skyline. its the one that you genuinely love that you will stay with, otherwise you'll never be truly happy with a skyline.
the nsx is one cool looking motor, and havent really heard a bad word about 'em either.surely you can tweek 'em a bit?

I'd also agree. 0-100 is where it's ar for me also. Top speed is not that much fun for me. I mean going 180mph is fun a few times but once you've done it that's it. That kick in the back acceleration is the real thrill for me although saying that I would love a Skyline and wolud definately consider an R33\34 for my next car. I had a chance to see the 700bhp Skyline which was at 10 of the Best up close and personal and it is an absolute beast.

I would agree with earlier posts though. Any Skyline around the 400 bhp mark is going to struggle to put any distance between it and a decent STi Scooby. I have kept up with a 400bhp Skyline in my 300bhp Scooby Type R well into triple figure speeds (on a private track off course). I mean obviously a Skyline is no slouch and great for high speeds but if you want serious 0-100 acceleration, it's only after you get about 500bhp on Skylines that I would term them seriously quick but like I said, at 700bhp they are monsters.

Anyone have any ideas on roughly how mcuh it would cost to get a Skyline to 500bhp?

Cem which part of the world do you hail from orginally? Your name sounds like you might be from my neck of the woods.

OTOH it's nice to be able to cruise at 100mph without screaming along at 5000rpm. Ideally you want a car with short gearing to get it up to 100 or so, then a long 5th (or 6th) to tool along in.

Jesus you lot are so defensive about you car...It was my skyline that Toad went in.It is around 420 bhp maybe higher but it has been set up really well by Abbey Motorsport and absolutly flies.I can say it would **** over my old evo 6 which was standard and would say only a highly modified scoob would be able to keep up.But at the end of the day I have got a Skyline and I am not to fussed about what people say,I love it........

Me too
The thing about the Scoob is that (1) there aren't that many challenging corners on the way to work and (2) I don't think I'm a good enough driver to make the best of them.

Maybe I need a 'straight line special' e.g. a Cerbera (plus another car for when the Cerb brakes down... )

EvoVI, the skyline is just to heavy, in my scooby i can beat just about ANY car on the roads, its all about getting the power down and using it, the skyline might be ok..ish on a nice wide track, but on some real twisties, the line doesnt stand a chance.
I live near your area, so if you want to experience a proper car, mail me.

A well sorted skyline is the better car. Atleast you dont get 7 of them driven by baseball hat wearing ***'s down Southend Seafront on a Saturday night.
