Ok I am really confused now.
I though Foxes were regarded as being wise ? they also learn how to evade the hunt and survive until they're too unfit or unhealthy and then they succumb to the ripping and the tearing and the savagery. Surely if its defendable for a fish its good for a fox.
Anyway.....
I personally had understood the argument to be that while its there for the hunting then its in everyone interests to manage the fox population at an appropriate sustainable level. And that one of the dangers was that if hunting were banned, then its no longer in the landowners/farmers interests to tolerate any fox population so they are at greater risk of being culled (humanely or not) .
Perhaps in a few years the country fox will be extinct and the urban fox will be all that remains.
Probably been another 15 posts by the time I typed this![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

And if you know anything about carp fishing you will know they are not dumb fish but extremely wise old ******* that get more and more crafty the older they get. Also if they were damaged in any way then they wouldnt go onto live to a ridiculous age and getting to 60lb is size
Anyway.....

How can catching a fish and putting it back alive and well be compared to hunting a fox down and killing it?
I dont hunt the carp down, I throw it some food and if it takes it then I have a good chance of reeling him in. I am not going all out with blood thirst to catch my carp and have immense pleasure in seein it ripped to pieces.

Has anyone considered the suffering caused to head lice by medicated shampoo? It's disgusting - these evil mothers callously murdering defenceless, innocent lice, and just so that their little dears aren't traumatised at school by friends calling them ******. It must stop - it has no place in today's society. Some people make me sick

LOL @ TAZMAN
I think my townie foxes are far more clever than old country folk foxes, I'm sure going through the bins and eating curry, chips and drinking any left over drops out of beer cans is far more tasty than a plain old rabbit with rain water![Stick Out Tongue](images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Plus they arnt going to find 30 hounds chasing after it on a Sunday morning.

lol Nimbus - Too much information to bee
!
I would like to point out we were going after grey squirrels and not the red squirrels which are a ntive to these shores and cause very little damage (mainly due to them being fussy little critters that eat only select things).
The greys on the other hand are brash, over-bearing and obnoxious - btw the come from the States!

I realise that hunting with hounds is cruel, but so is hunting with rifles, or shotguns, or gas, or snares.
BUT its a means to an end and they need culling !
When the local fox visits my dads smallholding it kills every chicken in the coop and takes one away to eat, so we are stitched up for months with no eggs to eat or sell. We are happy for the local hunt to kill it, or the ranger pops it with his .243, its life and we really dont care how its killed.
Mindyou my sister works at the local stables, I wonder if you "anti" lot could comfort if she loses her job. And my friend works in the kennels, he would definately lose his job.
Just let them get on with it, its a way of life that most people have no right to meddle with.
Some people are so misinformed that they even insist that foxes are endangered![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)

if fox hunting is to be banned then the antis should be forced to find work for all the people they made redundant with any and all trades associated with the fox hunts, that includes the horse groomers, horse feed suppliers, clothes makers, boot makers, etc, etc

They aren't scared of people or scoobs either! Every time I am out late at night and I pass one it just stands there. I stop and it still doesn't p!ss off! I think it likes the full decat system and the lovely reddish blue colour, obviously they have good taste!![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Its only when I put the window down and tell it to **** off does it trundle off up the road.

something i heard from somewhere
the only reason the anti's want fox-hunting to be banned is because they have screwed up the towns, so they want to screw up the countryside and i agree with that person

I love the way people feel we have a say on this!
Clearly the horses choose to hunt the horses and just happen to take people along? attempt to stop them hunting foxes and they could turn nasty .....

I think shooting them is the most humane way although not the easiest as they have to be caught in the act first. I have no problem with a farmer wanting to control foxes. But a farmer employing/allowing people to hunt them is not using a humane way of contolling the population, and as already stated its also one of the least effective methods with only 2/10 foxes being caught.
And as far as protecting sheep, on the news the other day the latest method is lamas apparently! £600 a throw, live for 20 years and a fox wont go in a field with a lama in it! The farmer who was interviewed had 3 or 4 to a flock of sheep and he said since having them not one lamb had been taken by foxes. Don't know what lamas are like with chickens tho![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
