question for evo owners who've also had modded scoobs

Engine wise nowt aprat form routine servicing, about £500 on exhaust bits, uprated brakes bits, lights, 18's and a few cosmetic bits and peices abotu 12K in total 
, nope seriously a few grand. Yes its pretty quick 225+bhp/ton and a similar set of ratios as the EVO RS makes for interesting progress. Porbably why I was diappointed with the EVO7 as it didnt have the close ratios and lightweight feel.
Good cars EVOs but not the big gap people keep saying they are esp. in standard form. I agree you can mod them but it costs depnds on what you want. Put it this way I wouldnt want to buy an EVO7 and then spend £5K on engine mods alone.

Type_RA may have summed it up - if you have a std UK turbo, then get in a std EVO there's a difference. An STi 5 to a std Evo 6, not a great difference. What will be the difference is if you want to start getting big power gains, then the Evo is the best machine to choose
As for me - my UK Turbo is great, but if I had 30k to spend instead of 20 - I wouldn't be heading for the Subaru showroom
PS Co55ie - what the hell is that escort cabrio bit all about - last roadging one of those I saw was in 1987 and it has some dizzy blonde hairdressing tart driving it.

LOL I was just being stupid after seeing the video of a tuned scort cabrio spanking a scoob. The video is on the the other marques part of the site and is under this is why scoobs are so slow.

You can take an Evo that much further in the tuning stakes, being a regular track day co-pilot in a rather well sorted TRUE 380bhp Evo I can tell you not much comes close. This car had the RC full treatment only to find out it would have been better giving the money away, even the cams werent setup correctly... Still the right mods later and its a reliable 380bhp (well so far). And guess what, I have first refusal if it ever gets sold.
However my trusty uk my2000 scoob is soo much cheaper to run. Will we ever conclude this arguement.... I think not, its down to personal choice and a good sized wallet.......
