Mods to new WRX

chins,
25mm might not make much diff visualy but on the old car it was said to make a big difference to the ride, personally i'd rather have springs that did nothing for the looks but made it corner flatter than vice verser.

You are pretty much there. The P1 couldn't get type approval for the Euro regs on 18's as there wasn't room for chains - a mandatory requirement for it to be sold in Europe.
The WR pack included 18's because they can be sold as after sale mods and that is exempt.
That is also the reason, I believe, that the PPP has to be fitted to a UK300 AFTER registration.
Lowering a UK300 after registration is also exempt.
45mm drop is certainly ok providing springs and dampers are matched - our Leda's are lowered 45mm and they work INCREDIBLY well...

A lot of people seem to swear by the Eibachs on the old model, without a big deteriation in the ride.
If its roll your worried about, you could always fit bigger anti roll bars.

And i guess after the "official press-release" about it, UK300 owners will get priority and the rest of us will wait another 3 months till anything becomes available.....
and in the mean time no one will have a clue whats going on as IM/Prodrive wont keep either us or he dealers informed!!!!
Whilst on the subject of bad PR how is the PPP coming for MY01 WRX existing owners Mike? Any news you'd care to share with us??

Jza,
Matey, calm down a bit.
Mike W has always tried to keep us posted of new stuff, and will do as much as he can without breaking his own companies confidentiality rules etc. He does come up with some really useful info and is always helpful, so cut him some slack mate.
And please don't flame me, I'm not having a go.
Cheers, Alex

jza,
are you this bad on the road, i wouldn't want to cut you up
i've sympathy for mike as IM have got some daft politics that have reflected on prodrive with the ppp/ uk300 stuff.
while i'll wait for ppp im not waiting for suspension though- i`ll risk eibachs instead

Tiggs,
I'm also going for the Eibach's. TSL recommended Goodridge hoses at the same time as the struts have to come off. Are these worth doing. e.g. Will I notice a difference?
Not sure who to trust to do the work yet, any suggestions? There seems to be some confusion. Are teh Eibachs the same as MY00's?
Still waiting for the PPP though.

Andy W.....yes I am going to Punchestown, and I believe Brian T is as well. The ISDC have asked a few people to show up early and place their cars on the stand. I believe Brians will be one of those cars.
Jza, as Andy W said it's Subaru Ireland offering the Morettes FOC on all new orders. Sorry for not being clear and getting your hopes up !
BTW I think Brians headlamps are left matt black and look pretty mean too. I've seen this car on the road. I guess with that colour car you could leave them and maybe paint them later if you wanted

Did i open a small can of worms with this suspensions issue? For 150.00 just fit the
******* things and trust me.
And yes I did leave me lamp surroun unpainted. The reason for this was that the driving lamp surround, bumper insert and grill are all mattand it looks better IMO.
And yes my car will be on the stand at Punchestown on Saturday.
See ya all there!
Better get some polish out cause the car looks like a bag of s***.this my friend is not the norm, its just the kids....
