Silver Surfer.

The newer cars have a front splitter and rear spoiler which has dictated that the whole rear light set be re-arranged.
Apparently the "dive and squirm" under braking that I experienced (previous post) has been acknowledged and is being addressed.

Other points I forgot to mention was the build quality of my friends car; you can get yoiur hand in the shut line on one side of the boot and not a *** paper the other, there are blisters inthe gel coat on the windscreen pillar (and on another model I saw raw fibreglass matting protruding from under the windscreen rubber).
There was also an enormous amount of heat coming through the bulkhead and the alloy gear **** became extremely hot to the touch.

Would I own one? Maybe, but not for long.

Neil.

Read a coiuple of things about the Tuscan S recently

EVO magazine tried to get a top speed run but couldn't because the front splitter fell to peices and the speedo needle flew around the clock as soon as they hit 100MPH

Autocar drove a TuscanS against a 996GT2 and reckoned the Tuscan to be the better drivers car. (I still know which I'd rather have)

Never really understood TVR's to be honest, very quick and sound lovely but a nightmare to drive and own from all reports. Basically a kit car with production car price tag.

The front splitter broke at 160mph when they were trying to get the car to hit 200mph.
Car managed to wipe off all its speed under heavy braking and still managed to keep straight when the splitter exploded.
No mention about the new seat covers.

[There quick and sound good, but not a nightmare to drive. Thats down to the driver. I assume you mean either the brakes or suspension let the car down. Which is why their are upgrades, just like the Scooby ones. It depends on how you wish to drive and handle your car]

I think a car that will happily switch ends without so much as a wiff of throttle in damp conditions can be descibed as a nightmare to drive (Cerb 4.5 from experience).

In my opinion a 30-40k+ sportscars should not need to be upgraded to allow it to stop and handle properly, unlike a Scooby which is a performance saloon/coupe which needs to fulfill a much wider selection of needs as a standard car.

Still don't understand, if I want to spend 40K on a British Sportcar I'll have a Noble M12GTO thanks

Just wandered outside to get a coffee and there's one parked right in front of me. Light metallic blue, twin carbon exhausts (look like they've been nicked from a bike), and I have to say although I'm no fan of tvr's, that it did look the dogs.

Wouldnt want one myself, but its got more of a visual impact that anything other car I can think of.

It'll probably be parked there until the AA turn up

Might be something to do with reliability??

Mate's dad owned one. Bought it just after Christmas and gave it back to the garage to sell for him, just a few months later.

Mate said it was awesome car, but it would be OTR for a week off the road for two, etc. His old man got p****d off and got them to sell it for him.

Cheers,
Tom

I had my IFA 'round last night, so had to tape Top Gear...

I mentioned I was only taping it to see the Tuscan S.

My IFA said a chap he works with has a Tuscan, and has managed to spin it 3 times so far on roundabouts - Once in the wet...Twice when it was dry!!!

If you want a totally silly powerful car, why not save some money and get a Westfield Cossie or Seight?? Better build quality! Easier to maintain, cheaper insurance, better handling, Even FASTER than a Tuscan where it really matters?!!
