Other Legacy drivers ignore me.
Seems they are far too busy being family leaden to worry about other people with the same car.

Sccoby drives don't seem to clock that my car is a scooby.

A couple of guys I have seen in traffic have given me a knowing smirk....usually becuase I am grinning like a maniac too. Mmmmmm...I love my car.....

I too have had some funny looks while waving, only to remember I am not in the Scoob. (Or waving to other Renault vans when I am in the Scoob !!)

Maybe we need some sort of sign to identify wavers/non-wavers

How about an “I am a happy waver” sticker…….It would obviously have to be big enough to fill half of the front screen to give us enough notice to wave!!!!

No?
OK then I will get my coat………….

perhaps we should all start a legacy drivers persecution thread. i've got the turbo estate and no one notices it untill its past them.
this causes the double take which is almost as good as a nod/wave but a little one sided
cheers richie

Cool

Mark I think Scoobs don't suit yourc personality, perhaps you should sell up and buy a BMW M3, like all the other ponces that own them.

And all you others ... phew... so many new names.... the waving fraternity seems to be less popular than it used to be a few years back... ah ... I remember when.... ha ha...

I see loads of Scoobs every day and none of them wave... black 5 door (Chobham)... green 5 door on the way to Woking... Blue one... white WRX... and and a green 4 door that I park opposite three days a week (Peacock Centre Woking..)... do they wave.. do they heck as like...! .. No....

sad sign of the times.. Impreza gone boy (girl) racer... no more class...

Dudes, theres an art to the wave

1. Ensure that the person you are waving to has enough time to respond

2. GO FOR IT!! A feeble lift of the palm whilst still holding the wheel with ya thumb ain't no good

3. Use ya lights where time permits and there are no junctions ahead (People might pull out....OUCH) and then resort to rule 2

4. Who cares what people think who are not in a scoob. You don't know them, you'll probably never see 'em again, and they are jealous

5. Part of owning the car is recieving positive attention and acknowledgment that your beast is a respected piece of machinery. ENJOY IT

6. If you believe that with a closing speed of 60mph+, that everyone is gonna see ya, you is wrong. If they don't wave, very rarely will it be because of snobbery, more lack of spacial awareness

7. DO IT WHEN YOU CAN

8. In the summer, with the windows down..GET YA ARM OUT INTO THE SLIP STREAM, It's fun

Here endeth the lesson

MIKEY (Massive fan of waving )

I picked up a new Lexus IS200 a couple of years ago and driving home there was a bloke behind me in a new one also flashing his lights and waving at me, followed me for about 2 miles doing it waving and smiling.

I was worried he wanted to **** me or something.

Waving is boring, how about showing our *****??

Ok might be a bit dificult but It would look quite funny (especially if you were caught by a gatso)

Or the young ladies could pop them out and the guys could, erm, just look at the ladies>

I have to admit that I didnt know I was supposed to wave. Ive just got back from a call out to work, and on the way there I passed a blue Turbo (V reg on M54 towards Telford anyone?) And they flashed their lights.

I thought there must be summat wroong with the car, so slowed down, and they passed me.

No one used to wave at me in my previous sport, but since I got the yellow one ive noticed it more. Maybe cos I now look a little more like a turbo?

I will try to remember to wave (if its allowed in non turbos?)

I think somebody should check Mr Colmans blood pressure

I always wave (when poss) at impreza's. The other models have never waved at me (cos I smell??).

I get about a 50% return rate with P1's being the worst for no shows.

But I don't care cos I'm a muppet

Yeh, someone check my blood pressure, prefferably a blond 38-25-nice hips, not the usual monk thats in the doctors.

Ian, I've calmed down now.

And if you wanna find a WEIRDO group of drivers.....Corrado VR6. They NEVER wave, but they follow you places and stick business cards under your wipers? Freaky.

I've not laughed so much in ages!!!!!! Typical bloody square heads!!!!!! Oh God thats good!!!!! Once went to a VW show down south somewhere - summed 'em up perfectly!!

Any way for those of you out there travelling through Derbyshire, a casual lift of the finger off the steering wheel is as good as an invitation to tea - as is the 'almost' imperceptable nod of the head. Once you get used to it its as good as 'the half your arm out of the window' technique!
PS I dont drive a Scoob but a 'four'!!!

I used to initate a wave.

I don't bother now after the amount of times I have felt like a complete **** after they don't wave back and just look me in the eye.

If someone wave's at me I do wave back.

Im glad someone thought so, I didnt think they went down to well!!

Never realised that "waving at people" would start one of the longesy threads this week,

Im thinking about starting one called:

"Men never smile back at me in swimming pool changing rooms"

Cool

i usually give a wave/flash lights if i see a scooby or evo. but then i drive a skyline, so they probably think i'm weird
i respect most performance cars, especially jap ones, so i'm always friendly. mind you, if i get chance to 'have a go' on a quiet road, i will, so if you see a white r33 'having fun' around colchester area, chances are its me

Michelle does that mean you waye at corollas and neons then?

I wave but only seem to get any form of aknowledgement from modded or import cars. Oh and spotting the my01 in traffic is difficult to say the least.

if you want to get waved at get a massive rear spoiler then no one misses you

To quote Jer "...5 door, green or old git driving...."

But everyone still waves at PTMW...and he meets all three non-waving criteria

As a 5dr,Green and an old git driver I still wave & flash the lights to all scoobies even if the wife thinks I am a sad bar steward.
