Found hidden in the depths of the website...
"Static: 101dB(A) at 2/3 maximum revs ½ metre from the exhaust at an angle of 45 degrees.
Drive by: 87.5dB(A) at a minimum of 60mph measured 20 meters from the centre line of the vehicle accelerating maximally."
And not so hidden..
"The circuit has been engineered to incorporate latest construction principles and materials, and uses a low noise stone mastic asphalt surface to the highest tolerances of smoothness"

Scrap, no you don't have to be a SIDC member. Have a look at the SIDC shop www.sidc.co.uk and there's a option for non-SIDC members. It'll cost you £10 more though.
If it's anything like the one held eariler this year there will be all manner of cars there, not just Subaru's.

YOU MUST USE ROAD LEGAL TYRES, which of course rules out slicks of any denomination,

Ah John but did you ask them if they would cover you if you were on slicks matey.... ? As for the price John I'm just querying that with them as we speak....what was the excess though ?
Carl....as long as the tyres are stamped with the legally required EU mark then they can be any tread pattern at all

there was no mention whatsoever about anything spec wise on the car. It is up to them to tell me what i cant use, not for me to ask, otherwise they could exclude me from a claim for anything they fancied. Excess was £1500 i think. I havent got the paperwork through from them yet!

A month or two ago I took out a policy with Egger Lawson to cover me for a trackday at Bedford. Within the policy summary or policy documents it does not state anything about tyres as far as I can see.
This is taken from the fax I was send to notify me of the premiums.
'On Event Accident Damage Cover for A List Track Day Organisers for 1 driver per Standard Road Car with Road Legal Tyres'

When they mean standard they mean "road legal", all usual modifications are perfectly alright, turbo's, engine mods, suspension etc.....
With regards to tyres etc.... their underwriter has only recently (2 months) started trying to stipulate that "normal" road tyres be used, however, I have questioned this with Georgina and hopefully we can remove this hurdle
