Sorry to highjac the thread. I can see most of you have 17/18s fitted.I've just fitted some on mine and they are catching on the arches. What offset has everyone got, and with what size tyres

wanted,
mine are 205/40/17 with et45 (have had 215/40/17) - no issues, except my wheels only just clear the front brake calipers by about 1mm.

Thanks lads, the wheels i bought are ET45 with 215/40/17. My car is a 96uk and has black lining in the arch lips, and the tyres are catching.I've taken the lining off but it still catches occasionally.Apparently there is no problem with that offset on the imports as they don't have the lining and the lip is fractionally smaller.I don't fancy any arch work so it looks like i'm gonna have to find some with an et50 offset or as close as poss It's a shame cos the wheels look damn good.

Its not a problem.. I had the same thing with my 215 40 17's
pop it down to alan perry's.. £60 sorts it out!
I had mine down.. did it dead easy and siomething they do all the time on our cars etc... made a really good job and no one would ever know.
they seam roll them and put black trim to neaten it all up!
wicked.

I hear what your saying Phil, but i'd rather get an offset closer to et50. My mate has got the same arches as ours and he's got the same tyres but with et50 wheels. He can get a car full and not have any probs, so i'm on the hunt for some new ones

Wouldn't have cost me owt as Paul offered to pay for the arches, I just don't fancy me arches being fettled, could open up a whole can 'o' worms i don't need. The cars seen enough of bodyshops in the last 6 weeks.I've sold the wheels today so i'm back to square one, arches in tact.
I can feel a set of lightwieght OZ's coming on

ooo mods
um well ive had it scince feb/march and i would say i have done quite a lot
off the top of my head
wheels/tyres
engine dress up stuff (shiney bits/hoses etc etc)
braided brake lines
coilovers
cusco upper front/upper and lower rear strut braces
paintjob
sti3/4 front spoiler modified
rest of the bodywork is actualy standerd (it came with the sti3/4 rear spoiler )
silver dash parts
scoobymonitor hooked up to diagnostic port
nice steering wheel
revolution exhaust system with downpipe cat still fitted
K&N pannel filter
NGK plugs
TAS recirc dump valve
Dawse device
About 5 oil changes
Few other bits and bobs like the turbo swap im doing today (not by fooken choice.....)
i think i was pretty luck as the 97 onwards wrx seams to come with loads of sti parts as standerd (rear lights, ihi vf tirbo, sti intercooler painted black etc etc) it pushed out 281bhp @ the last rolling road @ 1.05bar boost and this has been increased to 1.25ish
i like red cars, they really do look sweet when there all waxed up in the summer time, i would consider a red mica car if i had a choice, that colour looks amazing
