I'm interested as well (obviously depending on price), especially if it includes fitting. I'm crap with stuff like that.

Cool

Carl, the story goes thus.....

Me and Pete (PeterPerfect) discussing gauges, usefulness, sexyness , etc.

Both like the SPA gauges, thought see if we can get a discount from ScoobyMania for two people getting them. Sent email, received one back saying two people don't count as a group buy, we would need eight. Well, provided the price is right, we should now have upward of sixteen. So basically I was asked to find a group first which is what I have set out to do....and boy do we have one

So, ball is in their court now as to whether or not they want to proceed with a group buy or not. Even if they knock say 20 quid off, at an estimation of about 200 quid for all the gear (without fitting), still means they are getting 16x180 quids worth of custom, when they may have only got 2x200. Makes sense to me for them to go ahead with it.

If I haven't had anything back in writing (email) by tomorrow lunchtime I will give them a bell and see if I can get in touch with Mike there.

I was trying to gauge (oh purleeeeeez ) interest to see if we would have enough people for a group buy. Me and Pete would have probably bouhgt one each anyway, but better to see if we can save a bit of dosh. Although, the logistics of sorting out all the money could be a bit of a mare

But to be honest, that is as far as it has got. To give SM merit, they replied initially very quickly. I understand they are running a business and cannot sit all day reading emails etc. (unlike some people ) so will leave until tomorrow afternoon and give them a bell then to chase it up (it has only been a couple of days since my initial speculative email).

These things take time, and hopefully, I will be able to get back to you all with some prices if SM are willing to go ahead with the group buy.

Hang in there all, I will do my best to get a good deal (cos I want one ) and will let you know tomorrow hopefully after I have rung them.

Cheers

Steve

Unhappy

Folx,

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but SM cannot go ahead with a group buy.

I've been over there myself to speak to Mike Tuckwood and check out his nice gauges

He ran through a few things with me explaining the situation, all perfectly valid.

Here we are, trying to get a discount on a product based on a certain number of interested parties. Firstly, to have made this manageable, we would have all needed to buy the exact same piece of kit, not different gauges, etc. Secondly, SM are already operating at a minimal profit margin (I've not found SPA gauges cheaper elsewhere) so would be unable to offer us a discount based on number as it would not be in the interest of the business to give things away at such low cost. Thirdly, there may be something underway from the powers that be to have a more formal group buy system from the sponsors of the BBS. Now, it may be that a gauge pack appears if this system becomes apparant, but until then, it ain't going ahead.

Thanks for your interest, it was initially to see if we could get numbers for a possible group buy and as it turns out, they can't do it.

Don't let that stop you from ordering them anyway I will be ordering the gear shortly anyway for my scoob as I had intended to do so. Remember, nobody has lost out here as no money has exchanged hands.

Thanks to Mike and Sean at ScoobyMania for there help with this saga and for being honest folk.

Sorry folks (for getting your hopes up )

Talking

Chaps,

If Mike can't do it them perhaps you should give Craig @ New Age a call. He sells SPA's and previously did a group buy on the Defi Gauges so is obviously not averse to the idea
