Group Buy - Status Update

Order to date :

29 Shells
160 Pins (approx).

Based on this & average of 5 pins per shell, the number to make the group buy a goer is:

14 Shells
70 Pins (approx)

Chris - If I say that I will purchase the remainder needed to complete the group buy, can you let me know how much that would cost me ?

Need to make a start on building hardware, want to play with the ECU over Xmas....

Paul... do you have an eprom programmer? If not and you want to have a play with the maps etc have a look at willem eprom programmer .

These are pretty cheap but very cheap (just over £45 delivered) when you just buy the kit and build it up.... if your interested we could buy a couple but would you be interested in building them up as im useless at that sort of thing! I've spoke to the guy and it would take about 4 days for delivery. Let me know what you think.... plus i need some more NF off you so i'll be in touch soon.

Tony.

Tony -

Probably best let David do it - at least if I get it wrong, I've only screwed mine up !

Tony, re: NF, just let us know where and when, plenty in stock. Large bottles and single shot, as well.

Chris, we should have the required number of buyers now, if you can give me that price !

Exclamation

Apologies all for the slow response.

For the last few days I have been trying to place an order - it appears that the distributor's MOQ for pins changes on a minute by minute basis (1 - 500 - 1K - 5K ) & dependant on whom you speak to in sales

I have even spent half a day speaking to TYCO/AMP UK direct & have gone through ALL their other UK distributors without success.

Which brings me back to the original distributors , however, having bypassed sales & by talking to "Tech Support" I am now considering possible alternative compatible pins for my "Project's Protoype Production Run" which, upon success, will of course lead on to a regualar large order - for which the distribtor is trying to negotiate a free sample of 500 pins

Wish me luck - I'll keep you posted.

Chris

I found that wirewrap pins work quite well, but unfortunately they don't look too neat and they are loose.

Question

I was going to ask the same thing that Huxley already brought up. What are these connectors for? I assume they have something to do with DIY mapping... are these to eventually connect the ecu to a laptop and mess around with the mapping?

Sorry for the stupid question, but I don't understand much about this

Simon -

I'm down for 6 shells, and 36 crimps. Could you put them aside for me, and we'll sort it out when I get down to you ! Should be this week, I've finally got my courtesy car!

Big Big Thanks to Simon & his companies purchasing power for forcing the goods from the supplier - despite their knack for losing orders & changing minimum order quantities on an hour basis!

Cheers m8 your help is well appreciated.

Chris
