well, seeing as the scum nicked my cd autochanger from the boot when they nicked my car, I'd rather not put any more toys in it for them to swipe

"Just parked up is says GET OUT MY ***KIN WAY !"
Yeah, good point, but only in some people's eyes. The un-educated will think a wide boy car with tupperware which bothers me slightly. Still, my mum (who won't go in a car or fly with me) hasn't seen one yet and currently approves over the phone as it has 5 doors and a boot (little does she know cackle!!). It can work both ways...:-)

Very sad state of affairs for all...be very careful out there ladies and gents.
By bending our ways to the lower lifes' we lose a big part of our freedom, but until basic respect for the law and more importantly PEOPLE gets back in vogue, taking all the precautions one can is the best defence.
It is a shame, because all those precautions
are already infringing on our freedom...
Best wishes to the victim.
Soap box going back in the cupboard.

Just think though, this kind of thing is rare in somewhere like Texas. Why? Because odds are about 50/50 that someone who owns a 30 grand car also owns a .45 magnum or 9mm and before trying to carjack them you have to consider how much you are willing to risk getting a third navel.
Not suggesting that is the right way to go in the UK, but if we are banned from defending ourselves, surely the police have a huge obligation to do that defending for us. They've been failing for the last 5 years or so IMO.

Its crazy when you hear about things like this! ive been told before by a copper in a bad area i go to that if you think youve been followed dont go home! as they may come back later, steel it or worse! i also heard from a mate i manchester a P1 was stolen this way, broke into house and went to the bedroom and asked for the keys! i always carry a solid brass headed stick in case i need to stave anyone but this may not be enough! a little worrying when i have my 15 month old girl in the car if someone trys to car jack ya. did anyone see those flame throwers built into a bmw in south africa? it shot flames 6 feet up the sides to fry a likely car jacker, it was in a mag and legal over there as its very bad i believe. we would prob get taxed for ozone polution over here if we had em! MattN,
Too right mate! Used to fly with both doors off and it scared the pants off anyone we gave a lift to, as steep turns do not incite confidence in a passenger when a small black piece of nylon and Mr Newton are the only things saving you from a long drop....
