Now then,
I have no problem with the membership fee and am looking forward to progression, I would like similar content to badgerbell - I would be quite happy to write the odd article or two

I have a screen saver of an RB5 on a track day and its perfect for what you would want, only trouble is i cant remember where i found it on the net cos i looked everywhere. I am also not very good with computers does anyone know how i can get this picture from my screensaver to mark in some way???

Dan, look in your windows directory for files with the extension .scr the file whould be in there. Alternatively if you cant find it just search your HDD (c:\) for *.scr

Cheers for that R.B.5 But i managed to find the site that i got it from and have placed it a couple of posts above this one.

Nice to have another member on board. 
I've decided to re-model the Flash web-site. I think it looks too much like another one i've seen. Updates to follow shortly. Was thinking i'd make a short intro/movie into the site as well. I could include Richard Burns, his signature, speedos and rev counters moving with text about the club and the car appearing nicely in the middle of the movie. Intro/movie would last say about a minute. Ideas of what i could put in there would be good lads so get thinking

When i say movie i dont mean that i'm gonna make a movie with a camera etc, it'll be done by hand on the Mac
, just in case some were thinking otherwise lol!

Just to let you guys know, a m8 of mine has had some of his alloys refurbished up here in Edinburgh. The place he took the wheels too deals with a lot of Scoobies through Calder Motors (well-known jap importer up here).
Interestingly, they had been given an RB5 wheel by one of the local Dealers (AF Noble) to try too colour match. Just as Mike Wood told us, it's the particular finish on the wheel that makes so difficult to match.
Anyway, he's been trying for ages and has finally come up with a match where you can tell it apart from the original. I'm gonna get my wheels done soon, so I'll post some pics afterwards.
Unfortunately, since he wants business I don't think he'll be giving away the paint code or mix after all his hard work.

If he'll agree some sort of "special" deal with the owners club i'm sure there will be a number of us that will send him some business
£35 per wheel doesn't seem bad, but what about collection/delivery & tyre removal/fitting etc. a good deal in this area would swing it

Ok, there's three parts to the service -
1. tyre removal and bead blasting (to get back to the bare metal).
2. Wheel repair and then applying the finish (3 coats + lacquer)
3. refitting the tyre
He used to do everything himself, but has sold the bead blasting side of the business to a m8. It's still next door to him, so no big deal. His m8 takes care of removing/refitting the tyres and the bead blasting. He then repairs the wheel, filling any bad kerb marks or dings in the surface. Then he does the finishing and hands them back next door for the tyres to be refitted. He doesn't balance them, so you'd need to get that done locally.
They're only based in a small town outside Edinburgh, so he doesn't offer a collection service. Basically, you either need to drop the car off to them (it's only driven onto a ramp to get the wheels off, they won't drive it anywhere else - and have no reason too) or you drop the wheels into them. Full set of wheels can be done in a day.
Now obviously, unless you live in and around Edinburgh you'll need to courier the wheels to him. This will always be cheaper than him arranging for a courier to collect them. I'll contact him on Monday to find out what sort of deal he'd do to refurb wheels and courier them back to you.
The biggest problem is keeping the shipping costs low. Since couriers charge on weight, then it might get expensive unless we find a courier who would charge a simple flat fee (say £30-£40). You also run the risk that the alloys get damaged during transit.
Like I said, I'll contact him on Monday and find out what he can do for us.

Breaking News!!!!!
The RB5 Owners Club now owns the domain name www.rb5oc.co.uk
I have registered it for 2 years
One problem, I aint got a clue how to transfer the name to my web host
The beginning of the clubsite is being tested on my site at the mo, see here and let me no ur thoughts, its only in the mock up stage but trying to fit this in with work/personal stuff is HARD.
Theres never enuff time!!!!
We (R.B.5 and me) tried to get the meet next month held at a Subaru dealers in Solihul but they dont think they have enough space to fit all of us in so Gavin is hopefully in talks with a pub nearby that has a massive car park.
I want to start a list below of every1 whos going to come to the 1st meet.

Too far away?? It only happens like once maybe twice a year cant you "make an exception"??
We NEED you guys to make this happen so saying things like its too far isn't really helping things, i'm not having a go i'm just saying that to myself and Mark this club is pretty important and well to be honest we aren't doing it for ourselves we are doing it for us all. We've both put in lots of time and effort getting where we are now, so a little more effort to make the meet wouldn't go a miss here!!
So far we've got a turn out of what 5 people!? That hardly consitutes us doing a web-site let alone paying for stuff like domain registration, web-designing, blah blah the list goes on!

Can't make it to the meet now I'm afraid...
Got a phone call during the week and I'm flying out to Kazakhstan on Apr 16 with work... This intiates a 6-weeks on, 2-weeks off rotation for me over the next few years. Will probably find it hard to co-incide my home-time with the RB5 meet dates.
Never mind, I'll keep in touch from KZ...

Unfortunately I’m of the opinion that making a car club from a production run of 444 isn’t going to work…. Yes I know there a lot of enthusiasts on here who have RB5’s and are happy to contribute to a website/scoobynet. But the overall distance needed to travel to get to the meeting’s just rules it out for me and a lot of other people. IMHO we have enough meetings every year all over the country, and to be so selective to have a meeting for a particular colour of car is a bit OTT.
You obviously have a talent/desire to organise such an event and I wish you all the luck in the world, but I think your talents may be better utilised as part of a current organization.
Sorry but I’ve had meets at Knockhill with 4 RB5’s in the paddock at on time and the beauty of those events is that you get to see lots of other cars, because after all it’s about meeting new people with the same interests as you.
