I think you all need to chill
Yep he had a crash - he wrote of his car - blah de blah
No use sitting there thinking about wat if's is it
Good to act all high and mighty when the dee has been done - int it....not
'he who has not sinned.....cast the first stone'
No one is perfect - so don't act like it - don't judge - just be gratefull it has'nt hapened to you.......yet
He rolled the car - he did'nt hit anyone else - no one else was hurt - he walked away - and he's havin a laff at himself - end of story....
He's gonna be gettin enough lecturing from the wife (if there is one) and the insurance company.....he does'nt need to hear it here

I've done the same as pathfinder.
1st drive out in the wet in my new alfa. 1st time driving a rear wheel drive car in the wet.
Back end got slightly out of shape and the rear right wheel clipped the kerb of a bollard, blew the tyre, car got out of shape. Ended up on my side, imbeded in a building after taking out 3 bollards. I wasn't speeding, however I was going too fast for the road conditions.
The thing that haunted me most was this happened at the bottom of Orpington High Street, I was damned lucky that no one else was around. It stopped me thinking I was nigel mansell and totally changed my driving attitude. Hopefuly pathfinder will learn from it as well

why does he have to have been driving beyond his abilities to have crashed ?? when macrae crashes is it because he is driving beyond his abilities ?? no not likely was he driving too fast for the conditions ?? maybe or could it just be he made a mistake. people go on about things been beyond the abilities of the car and driver the thing is how are you supposed to know the limits of yourself or the car unless you go up the limits or even over them. Thing is no one is perfect everyone makes mistakes pathfinder has seen he made a mistake in doing what he did.
Sorry to see you have killed your car mate and i hope your foot get better soon

I cant agree - I have made mistakes but I am too embarrassed to advertise them to the world and then have a laugh at it. There seems no remorse or acceptance of his failings. This is what concerns me. If you crash a car and it's your fault you were driving beyond your abilities. You find these by going past them, I agree, but an airfield is the best place for that. He was patently driving well beyond what was even vaguely safe in the conditions.

nast X5 man..driving a boat like that what do you know about driving ..surely a copy of in-shore water navigation would be more appropriate for you...bet you drive with your fog lights on as well!

yes agree an airfield is the best place but not everyone can drive on an airfield and how many airfields do you know that have hills on them ?? the thing is driving on an airfield is nothing like driving on a wet moors road there is no way to replicate it why do you think they test cars around the moors they can be a very difficult place to drive through. Also have you thought there might have been something on the road that made it happen. Can you honestly tell me you have never had a moment where you were not in total control of you car ?? i doubt there is anyone who hasn't

Well, don't alot of you jump on the band wagon? Just because one person thinks this guy is a tw*t all of a sudden there is a big thread of people slagging him off. I'm pleased he posted on here and showed just how bad the accident was, how easy it can happen even on roads that you drive everyday and know well and that he is ok. It has probably already hit home how lucky he was and making a joke of it is a way of coping. Let's face it, he didn't go out this morning with the intention of writing off his pride and joy now did he? It could happen to anyone so just give him a break!

Lots of hypocrits on here!! How many times have you and me been driving our cars and thought, phew that was close - could have been nasty! I rest my case. We all make mistakes, very often we get bailed out. This time the driver didn't and he's paid the price. Hope your foot gets better soon and I'm glad no life was taken.

Yeah, its always after the moment you sort of look back and think "f*ck, that was stupid!!", a lot of us have been really lucky, only thing positive that could come out of a post about this, is that a few of us think, and get shown the possible consequences, and maybe take it a little more easy, dont think its fair to come on here and slate the guy for doing something we've all done and not getting away with it.
Glad you're okay, not a pretty sight!!
Dave -T-S, you are a hard man, I still shiver with fear from the slating you gave me for tyre kicking and not buying cars, lol oh, and i still do that, got any cars for sale?

I couldn't agree more. I live in a a rural area where I love driving my Scoob and think I know the road like me wife's back, but all it takes it one stoopid mistake to put it all into perspective. I'd be sick as **** for weeks afterwards if I ended up dooing something like that (and damned glad it wasn't a much harsher lesson).
Thanks for posting those pics. The images will keep me sober on the road for a day or two!
And some of these posts (e.g X5-tw4tman/12-yr-old) will keep me hunting for tossers to educate ...

Its a good post in that even if it makes some folks drive safer for a few weeks then its been worthwhile. No-one is dead or severely hurt so in the end its only metal and money. I'm glad you made it and you should strike 6 lives off, one for each flip.
The rest of us should just look at it and understand that it can happen to anyone, regardless of what caused it(speed, ice, driver error...). The outcome is the same....look at the result not how it came about. No car is invincible......or driver for that matter
Regards
Cammy

Spot on mate.....it isn't going to crash if it's stationary in your garage......

Yip, its me!!! damn, now ill have to escape under the cover of yet another name to avoid you
I think at least 90% of us must be guilty of taking things a little quicker than we're really happy with, and have luck to thank for pulling us round a corner we werent sure we were gonna make etc, I think the remorse is in the loss of his car and the injuries, must be gutting thing to go through.
