Firstly, im not here to start or continue any arguements - people have opinions, and i respect that!

However...

We know that MK4 Polo is jealous due to the fact that anyone can fart near his/her car and the alarm disables
Erm... Suggest you get your facts straight before you attempt topical humour - For future reference, Only the later Mk4 Polos came with alarm systems, and these were a factory option.

Even if it did have a ****ty VAG alarm, the car would still not be disabled as it does not have a total closure feature.

Assuming that it did have a total closure feature (which no Mk4 Polos do), the lock would need to be tampered with before it disarmed.

Unfortunatly you were incorrect in every possible way on this one

welcome to scoobynet just dont slate one of our valued members off, its a good job that Dave has a sense of humour or he and his missus would both be driving Volkswagons
Now that was'nt called for was it.

Did he insult Subaru? NO

Please dont imply that VW are ****. As im sure you are aware they are well renound for their build quality and reliability alone.

If dave and his missus dont have a VW that thru personal choice im sure.

Oh - and VW is spelt Volkswagen:d

Lastly - sorry to the guy who binned his motor

LOL - I said this thread was due to take a sideways turn - they always do

It's now "don't slag off my car, it's better than your car"

Lucky I never respond to those posts

HeHe

Not intrested in 'my cars better than yours etc' or even in arguing!

Just wanna get the point across that everyone has individual opinions, and that included what and how they drive. I dont see why that cant be respected.

When I was 19 I had an Opel Manta SR which even by todays standards was a much nicer car then the Polo
can you honestly say that you believe that? If speed is all you look for then i guess your right, but can you really say the Manta was good!?

Anyway - thats your opinion, and i respect that.

Personally, id prefer to have my Polo out of the two, but then i guess we look for different things in cars!

I remember "my computer is better than your computer" arguments when I was 12 tut. Name calling...hmmm about the same age I think?

Anyway, Pathy. Not taking sides with the heavy symapthisers as you alone are responsible for the risk you took taking the corner at 60mph *cough*, etc. Neither am I taking sides with the holier than thou crowd. None of us were there eh?

I am glad you survived and that no one else was hurt. Sorry to see the state your Scoob is in.

What happens with the insurance? Will they investigate the speed etc before paying out? Can they get you prosecuted and left without a payout if they determine you were over the speed limit? Do you get to pick at your car or does it go straight to the scrappy?

Cheers

Matt

Yea! Me and the other 10 million or so people that have seen Ali G.

dogmaul:

Depends how you look at it i spose. 15" are fine for the car - any bigger and arch mods and rubbing come into play.

I know what you mean tho, sometimes i look at them and think they could be bigger, but then i remember the pros and cons.

Also, the car will make way for another nextyear anyway, hence i havent gone too far with it.

Thanks for your comments tho. Do you have any pics of your car?

Oh and as for reliability - theres an exception to every case, as im sure you are aware. On the whole, VW are reliable, and build quality is undoubtedly better than other makes, naming no names of course!

would be a shame if this did get muppetised. (what the hell has a VW Polo got to do with a serious accident???). no comment on the cause of the accident but pleased it didnt end in serious injury to driver or innocent party.
what I would say is that I was late for work this morning (by about 2 hours due to not setting alarm). no traffic, very fast stretch of perfect scooby road, and I found myself thinking about the pictures way back on page 1. dont want to sound like I am preaching, but this could happen to anyone, regardless of how good a driver we all think we are. one minute you are driving along, enjoying the performance of your car, confident in the knowledge that you are driving within the limits of yourself and your car. the next minute you are heading for disaster, wondering why the car didnt go round the bend as it has done hundreds of time before. lets be careful out there!!! preacher hat off.

Ian - That is true, obviously you are one of those people. I would recommend it tho depending on your take on life - you may find it funny:O

Dog - I dont! Assumed you had a Scooby, for obvious reasons!
