Question

Would a 225 TT not give a standard UK turbo a run for its money??

Screemed past a TT till he was a dot in the mirror!!! Dream on, you'd need a mega power t weight advantage to pull that sort of lead. Even andy F couldn't make a 225 TT become a dot!!!

I think your winding us up mate, sorry!

I played with a 225 today and yes was quicker (modified MY99) but not massively so.

Is the 225TT quicker than a regular Scoob? Seeing as the Audi is well over quarter of a tonne heavier for only 10 brake-horse xtra, facts speak 4 themselves, no?

ahh...
225 TTs...
Think they are king of the road...
In a straight line they are demolished, much to their suprise. (twice now)
However had a spirited drive with one over a very twisty b road. nothing in it. Scooby 4wd and quick TT 4wd and quick. It was only in the straights that I had the definate edge. so a TT is a good car in the right hands.

Best wishes Steve Wrx 300bhp ish - 2pot brakesl, 4 pot in two weeks - no bump stear mod. ust to give you an idea of spec. Quick put poor braking slows me down.

fairly easy to waste TTs I find, however, be warned.

I have a friend with a bogo looking green TT convertible job, trouble is it has nearly 300 bhp and will cause you trouble.

Look out for it in north london, the only way youll tell is the noise it makes

LOL.

You guts make me laugh. To think another driver who drives an expensie car like the TT would stop and mouth "Scoobies are Sh*te" in a totally unprovoked act is stupifying.

Methinks Mr S13DUG simply has a pet hate for TT drivers and has invented this story to fan the flames of an argument.

Yet another illustration of this quite small p*nis like attitude that no car can possibly equal a Subaru.

Very sad :-(

Thanks and respect to SaxoBoy though for posting a measured comment.

Unhappy

Crucified

After spending far too much money on cars, and being guilty of a few duels on the highway, you need to define crucify.

Ive had a P1 and tuned STI V. In a straight line run with a TT it would take a long distance to put any real yardage between the two. Even on the handling side at a roundabout the TT isnt too bad, if the driver knows how to drive and that the key. There are a lot of young inexperienced drivers that get TT's as comapny cars. I know a few myself. For those that think 2 tailpipes = 225, guess what the favourite mod of 180 owners is. You guesed it a twin tailpipe conversion.

I'm a great scooby fan (must be after 7 of them), but also love my 1.8T engined Audis and Seats. My old S3 with a simple chip kept pace with all but the most tuned Scoobies on Donningtons straight (skill taken out of the equation), and it lost nothing in the corners. It was crap on braking though.

The TT driver probably saw a baseball cap, nodding Scooby in the back, and Nova style driving, hence his reaction. Dream on TT eater. See we can all stereotype

I hired a 225 TT out here in Germany last year and against a standard Turbo I doubt there would be that much in it in a straight line, it managed to hit 240kph quite easy and plus it has 6 gears so 3-5 make it pretty nippy.
Nice car but would not buy one, my scooby is far more exclusive out here in Frankfurt and a better drive!

You could beat one no doubt and with that spec it would even be comfortable but you'd not cruicify one! I've got full decat, tec 3, etc goot for about 270bhp and happened to play with a 225 TT today. Yes I was quicker and despite starting behind if conditions had permitted could have caught him and passed but I'd never have made him look stupid like you suggest.

Even if it was the 180 I doubt you waste it be as silly a margin as you seem to suggest. For example, tonight (this is sounding bad 2 races in a day!!) I played with a 306GTI (about 180 TT acceleration) and even that didn't get wasted....beaten convincingly though

Maybe you just need to chose your words more carfully. Substitute crucified for 'comfortably beat'

Good day to you

Once saw one on a ramp in a garage doing some work on my car, I said despite everything I still like them, mechanic said to me
"We call them the clitoris"
"Why ?"
"In the right hands they can give a great deal of pleasure but.. seems like every C*nt has got one"

Cheers

BTW, I ran into a heavily modded RS4 - it had flames coming out of the exhaust when he shifted gears! Hehehe! He thought he could give me a good run in my 2.0litre sport Impreza! I looked accross at him and he mouthed "lets have it if you think ya ard enough". Me thinks it's time to show this hair-dresser poof what a real car goes like! So we ended up at some lights next to each other and they went green. I selected fifth gear (no need to use first my car has so much torque) and accelerated so fast into the horizon that the skin on my face was stretching and flapping backwards. I had to back off due to fear of swallowing my tongue such was the g-force!!!!! I looked in my mirror and it wasn't there. The g-force had made it fly through the back windsreen but I was sure that crappy RS4 with it's poncy driver was miles behind and had learnt not to mess with me! God I feel great. I will go to sleep a happy man tonight and my **** will grow two inches due to my bravery. I hope you are all proud of me!

Dont mention Audis with me. A friend (well not so much of a friend) has an S4 which is meant to have over 300BHP. All i can say is i beat him at the lights by at least 3 car lengths and he never caught up. Wont say what speeds we got up 2 either.

LOL at Veroccha

for you info my TT has over 200bhp/tonne and has roughly half the transmission loss because the sophisticated Haldex 4WD system!

I have a good mate with a Tuned MY98 scoob and beleive me there is nothing in it!

he will do me on the 1/4 mile cos the scoobs 4wd just hooks up and spins all 4 wheels, mine fanny's about transferring power to where aint spinning etc!

As for completely annihaliting anything bollocks!

you need something like a 911 turbo before you begin to really open up a significant gap!

but then i supppose they fall back so quickly from your tuned scoobs that it aaint worth mentioning!

Cool

Pah, you peeps don't know the meaning of the term G-force, battle of the planets is what its all about. Anyway the other day I completely pulverised a space shuttle from 0-orbit, man he was a spec in my low level spoiler - he was 7 up mind. Upgrading to 4pots this weekend after a few brown trouser moments on re-entry, good job I'm the best driver on the planet...I can even beat Tron in the twisties.

DUG, I dont mean to upset you but he said your car was sh*te, not sh*te slow, and compared to his it is. His car is close to 20 Grand more than yours. Oh and its standard. So stop blowing or get a real car first.

Verrachocha im pi55ing myself laughing!

just trying to imagine the scene was hilarious!

to destroy to a dot in your mirror is hard to beleive!

They arent that slow!

uless you had a a blast from 0 to 150mph how could you tell?
ive been on track with 400bhp evos to my 240 bhp scoob and yes they were quicker but didnt destroy!

i find all this racing bull5hit a crock of crap, how can anyone know that another driver was giving it big licks? is actually trying or can actually drive?

by the way i passed a porsche in my tdi im sure he was trying as he had racing gloves and he was gripping the wheel tightly! i left him in my mirror!

FFS getbon track and do a few laps and really see the differance of performance, you might be surprised.
