Hate to pi55 on your bonfire Squizz, but this is exactly what the 'uneducated and immature individuals' who run the Irish propaganda machines want outsiders to believe.

Apparently, the passangers on the plane that crashed in Pensilvania knew that the WTC had been hit and decided to take action. In my view, these people are real heros. Facing what they can only assume to be cirtain death, they tried to prevent a similar tragedy by trying to re-take the aircraft. I hope they are remembered for the brave act they attempted.

I have always though that the Northern Ireland issue is over land and political allegiance. The religious association was only a convenient label (same God and really little practical religious differences) - it's really about the British and Irish there.
Back to the States, and WHY has there been no mention of the Hijackers ethnicity? The Yanks are sitting tight on a lot of info, and this one is so key. Many of us might be barking up the wrong tree...

I am getting sick of the blatant excuse for people to send crap emails.
I am receiving crap now about some album cover with some rap gangsters holding a detonator and blowing up the wtc.
Why cant people concentrate on real events rather than speculate about strange phenomena. Are people really that stupid.
It is getting to the point wheer I get angry at those tha send them to me when I receive them.
PS. radio is saying that americans are not just blaming bin laden randomnly. They now reckon on having a range of concrete evidence all pointing to cells under his influence and control.
They also say he is under house arrest in afghanistan.

No arguement from me, but in that "conflict" and in the strike against America, it's the less self-thinking "foot soldiers" of these malevolent controlling types that usually perpetrate such actions.

Thats what I have been thinking. When the oklahoma bomb went off everyone's fingers were pointing middle east bound but it turned out to be a lone redneck american with a grudge.
Ever stop to think it could be anti globilasation activists? What better target than the World Trade centre? Makes more sense for them to pile an aircraft belonging to an international airliner into the WTC than the arabs..
Or how about those hick miltia groups holed up in Montana? Always going on about how america is rotten to the core and it would look less dodgy for a "farmboy come good" to train to be a pilot than an arab who barly speaks english....
Jus' my 2p's worth...

The Lloyds names are in for a hammering again - just like a decade ago. They sold all their assets off like wine cellars etc, I managed to get some fabulous cases at auction (Christies) for reasonable money. Not that I wish to profit from terrorism but just a comment.

Cheers mate. My wife's a Muslim. This is the sort of attitude that encourages racial hatred. A Muslim school in London has had to close because of death threats, etc. It's easy to declare war on a country because they're all in the same place, but how can you declare war on a religion (and why would you want to?) All religions have their nutcases -- Guy Fawkes was a Catholic fundamentalist.

You should have seen the Muslims being racist towards you and me on Question time the other night. Whilst we are un-learning racism, they are hyping it and wishing us harm.
It is not the West at the forefront of this sad sad resurrection of racism. We are now stepping back in time. We were all doing everything possible to kill racism, and very sucessfully too.

The bbc director general has just issued an apology for that sickening programme.
They should use internment against these menaces in our midst. I'm not joking -the Bradford riots in the Summer will be like a tea party to what we can expect soon.
Mark my words.

I was at uni in Bradford when the last lot of riots were taking place, (1996?). It was not nice. When I discussed them with my landlord's son, (a Muslim), he said that the white people should leave them alone and let them have Bradford for themselves. He said that they are taught in their Mosques that all white women are ******, white men are thieves and we do not wash. Because we are not Muslim, we are the enemy.
I know this is only one person saying these things and how true they were, I cannot determine. But, if people are being taught these sort of things in this country, the UK, who knows what is being drummed into people across the world about other cultures. I was able to put him straight about all of these issues saying that he was generalising in the extreme, and that I knew that a small minority of people were ******, thieves and didn't wash, but this was not the case in the majority.
Afghanistan is a closed culture. Anything could be taught by religious leaders and they would be believed, because they would have no one to tell them differently.
I am still coming to terms with what has happened and do not mean to offend anyone with this posting. It is just something which I have first hand experience of and thought I would share it.

Just read this quote, couldn't put it better myself....
It's Leonard Pitts' Column From the
Miami Herald.
Published Wednesday, September 12, 2001
"We'll go forward from this moment.
It's my job to have something to say. They pay me to provide words that
help make sense of that which troubles the American soul. But in this moment
of airless shock when hot tears sting disbelieving eyes, the only thing I
can find to say, the only words that seem to fit, must be addressed to the
unknown author of this suffering.
You monster. You beast. You unspeakable *******. What lesson did you hope
to teach us by your coward's attack on our World Trade Center, our Pentagon,
us? What was it you hoped we would learn? Whatever it was, please know that
you failed. Did you want us to respect your cause? You just damned your
cause. Did you want to make us
fear? You just steeled our resolve. Did you want to tear us apart? You just
brought us together. Let me tell you about my people. We are a vast and
quarrelsome family, a family rent by racial, social, political and class
division, but a family nonetheless. We're frivolous, yes, capable of
expending tremendous emotional
energy on pop cultural minutiae -- a singer's revealing dress, a ball team's
misfortune, a cartoon mouse. We're wealthy, too, spoiled by the ready
availability of trinkets and material goods, and maybe because of that, we
walk through life with a certain sense of blithe entitlement. We are
fundamentally decent, though -- peace-loving and compassionate. We struggle
to know the right thing and to do it. And we are, the overwhelming majority
of us, people of faith, believers in a just and loving God. Some people --
you, perhaps -- think that any or all of this makes us weak. You're
mistaken. We are not weak. Indeed, we are strong in ways that cannot be
measured by arsenals. IN PAIN Yes, we're in pain now. We are in mourning
and we are in shock. We're still grappling with the unreality of the awful
thing you did, still working to make ourselves understand that this isn't a
special effect from some Hollywood blockbuster, isn't the plot development
from a Tom Clancy novel.
Both in terms of the awful scope of their ambition and the probable final
death toll, your attacks are likely to go down as the worst acts of
terrorism in the history of the United States and, probably, the history of
the world. You've bloodied us as we have never been bloodied before. But
there's a gulf of difference between making us bloody and making us fall.
This is the lesson Japan was taught to its bitter sorrow the last time
anyone hit us this hard, the last time anyone brought us such abrupt and
monumental pain. When roused, we are righteous in our outrage, terrible in
our force. When provoked by this level of barbarism, we will bear any
suffering, pay any cost, go to any length, in the pursuit of justice. I
tell you this without fear of contradiction. I know my people, as you, I
think, do not. What I know reassures me. It also causes me to tremble with
dread of the future. In the days to
come, there will be recrimination and accusation, fingers pointing to
determine whose failure allowed this to happen and what can be done to
prevent it from happening again. There will be heightened security,
misguided talk of revoking basic freedoms. We'll go forward from this moment
sobered, chastened, sad. But determined, too. Unimaginably determined. THE
STEEL IN US You see, the steel in us is not always readily apparent. That
aspect of our character is seldom understood by people who don't know us
well. On this day, the family's bickering is put on hold. As Americans we
will weep, as Americans we will mourn, and as Americans, we will rise in
defense of all that we cherish. So I ask again: What was it you hoped to
teach us? It occurs to me that maybe you just wanted us to know the depths
of your hatred. If that's the case, consider the message received. And take
this message in exchange: You don't know my people. You don't know what
we're capable of. You don't know what you just started. But you're about to
learn."

I find the attitude of some of the muslims living in the UK a disgrace. Al-Muhajiroun, a Birmingham based Muslim group had a meeting at the weekend. They were calling for young men and women to become marters against the US and her allies :O They even said Muslims who condemned the attack are targets. We should throw them all out

This sort of nonsense is exactly what the terrorists want, you're playing right into their hands. They want Jihad, or Holy War, and this sort of anti-Islam feeling will stir it up good style. 99% of Muslims, like 99% of Christians, are peaceful people who are disgusted by these acts. By alienating all of them, it won't be long before there really is and almighty sodding war between the Muslims and the Wetsern world. That idiot Bush is just as bad, with his talks of a Crusade. How much more could he atagonise Islam by using the word that conjures up the true Holy wars of the 13th century?
The US (or indeed any country) cannot win this war. You cannot kill fanatacism, only fanatics. Kill one, you make him a martyr and several will jump into the void he leaves. Sure, try to bring Bin Laden to justice, but to kill him and his cohorts may stir up more hurt than the US has already suffered.
It's a difficult choice, one which I'm glad I don't have to make, but I hope dubbya can act sensibly and not just use this as an oppurtunity for the US to lash out at all its old enemies, regardless of their involvement.
Geezer

Geezer, I see what you are saying. I did not mean all Muslims in that last sentance. I agree, good and bad in all walks of life.
If Bush and Blair mean what they say about this being a war however, why cant they go and arrest people who say such things. ( Daily Telegraph, Today)
The response to this outrage either has to be diplomatic or a military response so massive they will never dare to consider such a thing again. But then they are just godless nutters so whats to say anything will make a difference?

Geezer
I agree with you 100%, except that these people cannot be brought to justice, at least not our justice.
Their justice must be with their god.
If we put them in prison, there will be a hijacking every week, until they are released. Further our human rights will ensure that their calls for future attrocities will still be heard.

I'd just like to say that the playing of the American National Anthem at the Changing of the Guard was one of the most moving scenes I have ever witnessed. It actually brought a tear to my eye!
