I ain't worried. It wasn't even an STI. It was a normal, heavy bug-eyed UK Impreza so I wouldn't expect any less. Had it been an imported STI type RA of course..

Question

Serious question for the RS boys on this thread

Has anyone put the Focus up against the Scort Cossie ? Large or small turbo version ?

Nathan..

I saw it, interesting article BUT.....for the 10 millionth time, the scooby is NOT a track car. We all saw what happened when he put the focus on the scoobys favourite roads didn't we.

No offense but a lot of people on this site don't know how to drive a scooby properly (for now, myself included). I've been in a lowly, near standard UK on the sort of tight twisty roads that the scooby loves with someone that has figured out what the impreza is all about. Simply, there isn't a fwd car and very few rwd car in the world that could keep up - when being driven by someone thats got the ***** to push it on its sorts of roads the scooby and evo toast the competition. If you don't believe me pack your nappy and come to edinburgh cause I'm sure the man in question will demonstrate.

BTW, I hate fords and particularly the focus, but I must admit the RS looks quite cool

Wink

Damn, just got back from the Premier stages rally and missed it.

I just spent all day blasting around between stages, including driving down the mother of all flooded, boggy, quicksand riddled forest tracks in the middle of sherwood forest. To get down these i had to use the centre diff lock on my TypeRA. My RA is a mud monster.

Once out of the $hite, wind the diff lock out with a touch of left index finger as i exit the forests onto tarmac and i am back to A, B, and C road balistic missile with masive grip and superb balance. Can anyone say 0-60 in 4.1 seconds straight off a forest track.

Lets see a Focus RS be that capable, i dont think so!

Dan, Fiesta rst's are good, but rare because they've all been written off by 18 year olds (how old are you btw?), but why are you caning scoobys, have you ever driven one?!

Question

I didn't read much into the lap times, so what if the RS beat the Scooby ? There's a lot that goes into making lap times and in order to get an accurate assessment you probably have to put in a few laps ?

Clarkson's final verdict summed it up, the Focus seemed to have a mind of its own after cornering and thats pretty scary if you're on the twisty stuff. In the end he opted to drive the Scooby home.......

I thought the programme was crap too - who were those other two blokes, little and large ?

K - I haven't no! But seeing as he's your father in-law... Either she's married to you or you're her

I would however recognise Mr Lewis if I saw him from the 20 inch Gold Multispoke's on his Scoob
