MarkO

The Scoob will be going sometime soon. Love the car but want to own a house instead of renting and want a baby. See, all the sl*gging off I got made me re-think my priorities!!!

Cheers!

Iam in the process of giving up as Ive just had Bronchitus for the 2nd time in 10 months, and Iam 25 so thats me and smoking done with!

My doctor tells me that your 10 times more likey to get Bronchitus if you smoke. 1 of every 3 smokers will die due to smoking.

I never really wanted to give up, I never really enjoyed smoking but it didnt bother me, then after 10 days of coughing up blood and tons of black mucus the decision was made for me. I wouldnt have given up had I not got Bronchitus, in a strange way its done me a favour!!

Iam not about to start campaigning for no smoking pubs and stuff, a pub is a social envioroment and Ive spent almost 10 years smoking in pubs, its what people enjoy doing when winding down etc etc, I dont thikn its fair of us non smokers to try and make these places non smoking. Airplanes, yes but general places no. Just MHO !!

A point worth considering is that if all the smokers in the UK quit the NHs would be on it's knees due to lost cigarette tax revenue.

It would be great to see what happened to the UK economy if everyone gave up smoking tomorrow

Having said that, I will be giving up in a year or two. I also want kids, and dont like smoking when near them.

Dave - some kid got smacked in the face in Manc, then hit his head on the kerb and died Sad state of affairs, though MarkO is wrong about Manchester - it is no rougher than anywhere else.

It should save money having 40 000 less dying people per year to care for though?

I'm a none smoker but not particularily against smoking.. Most of my family do.. I do however find the we're funding the NHS argument to be amusing to say the least.. Sure smokers put a lot of money into the NHS but they and their passive smoking victims then take most/ all of it back out again..

If everyone gave up smoking tomorrow the NHS would be in the **** as deaths caused by smoking wouldn't stop for years...

Smoke because you want to, don't pretend that you're being noble and paying for the countries health care.

If everyone gave up smoking tomorrow...
I might go to the pub more often, hence more beer revenue etc, etc.
The more i think about it,the more i'm in favour of a ban...

Angry

what do you know about smoking?
I know a lot...

I know that smoking gave my father lung cancer. And that he had to have half a lung removed. And I know that he got secondary tumours in his brain and had to have part of his brain removed. And that he kept having epileptic fits after that. And I know he died.

And I know that smoking gave my girlfriend lung cancer. And that she spent months having chemotherapy and radiotherapy. And I know that she died.

I know far too much about smoking.......
