Attn SaxoBoy - pics of fuel surge
#123
Taking the car too close to its limits with very little grip in reserve on unpredictable tyres - all my fault. The fuel surge was the 'trigger' or 'spark' the caused these to become a problem.
If there was no surge....it wouldn't have happened
If I had good tyres.....it wouldn't have happened so bad and would probably have been controlled
If I had recognised the above were a problem I wouldn't have been 'making progress' and it wouldn't have happened.
It is my fault but it needed all three of the above to be true for the spin to occure IMO. Going fast, surge, bad tyres.

Dave,
Can imagine you dealing with an insurance claim if you'd lower yourself.
Customer: hello, I've had an accident, I'd like to make a claim.
Dave: dumb fvck - what happened
Customer: I was going round a bend at 20mph and there was a disel slick and I slid of the road 9or had fuel surge)
Dave: you mean you were driving like a ****?
Customer: No
Dave: yes you were, I'm sick of all you snivelling little fvckers driving around like *****, acting like dumb fvcks, not declaring on insurance, causing me work - and YOU EXPECT ME TO PAY UP NOW?
- that sound like a typical day at the office

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?
ffs..
snip
Where do I start... 3 points per bald tyre..
Driving an unroadworthy vehicle..
Not that, that is the issue or my point..
Why oh why do you drive your car like it should be driven on a track on the public road, but thats your call as long as you dont kill me.
However do you know if your wheel nuts are tight? Brake Pads ok? Oil Level, Brake Fluid, Tread depth including uneven wear (pointing to possible suspension problem)
I wouldnt dream of doing triple figure speeds unless I knew at the back of my mind the condition of everything..
tyres are the easy thing to spot..
David
Maybe thats why!! I honestly would post a picture of my rear tyres - as they were
Frankly they were dangerous at normal driving speeds its no wonder I lost it when cornering hard. All it took was something to upset the car mid-corner and it was bound to happen.

The problem has been sorted. Got new front disks in my room waiting to go on very soon, got recent pads up front, new ones on the rear, got 4 brand new toyos on this morning all nicely balanced. The car is tip-top.......oh.....would you look at that, seems I have learned from my errors

you said originally that the car has never felt settled. Could be worth getting it checked out

You've got a bit more learning to do. new discs = new pads. Recent ones are no good. The Toyos are a good choice though, I'm happy with mine.
By the way - if certain people are worried about personal attacks, then someone we know shouldn't go stirring things up by launching attacks of their own, like compiling heaps of incriminating information and sending it of to insurance companies before blaming someone else. Somebody we know wants their medication upping a few milligrams.

I'm saying nothing re: your last comment, it's just not worth it <shakes head>

Back to singledom if you do, I guess. Fair enough.
Re "the general concensus" ... that's why every technical manual that refers to braking systems from the Haynes manuals upwards, and the City & Guilds Light Vehicle Engineering course agree otherwise. Obviously Everything I've learned is wrong and everything you read on the internet is right. Fine, do it your way, i await your account of the next "incident" with interest.

Al,
I have had quite enough of this. I was not the one gathering all of the information, if I remember correctly from that night it was Mark Tortolano and Nic Dale. When asked who fancied sending it to his insurance company I said I would because I knew then it would never reach there. I was the one that told Tim about it and then we he asked all you idiots you all tried to put the blame on me. I couldn't access Tim's site so it had to be Mark Tortolano as he had dial up to get onto his site and get everything and it was Nic Dale who somehow got his insurance brokers details.
This is where we should leave it and to be honest I don't really care anymore what you lot think.
'nuff said about this I think.

That would be a real moment killer:
"Hmm how did that happen, did I go to fast, did the bed rock too much, was it too slippy, too dry, too big, too small, was there fuel surge???"
"ZZZZZZZZ"
"Honey <prods> are you sleeping??"
