With regards to the purple corsa, it my missis car, so dont start. It'll turn more heads than any scooby owners on here!

Sideskirt, durr, if u were into modding cars u'd know they were the Carisma R5 skirts.

Bonnet extension, still gets pleenty of air under the bonnet. Aint affected the temp at all.

See, u don't know that much about cars obviously do u.

Lemmie ask, how many show awards u won so far then? Cos D5's won plenty!

Oh, front page feature soon as well. HAs urs got a front page feature???

I'm still laughing at all the pics Wouldn't it be boring if everyone drove completely standard cars - like me. Mr Excitement.

I suppose it all comes down to how much you want to turn heads, and be noticed. Heads turn in disbelief, and pity, as well as admiring glances. If you can handle that, then good luck.

Personally I like to blend into the background a little more (hence the Legacy B4 RSK on order). It all comes down to how important your image is to you, and how you perceive others responding to that image. Surely this is just individual taste

Each to their own

single wiper conversion (really hate that!)
stick on bonnet vents
"peco" type back box
tasteless bodykit "extras"
max power sticker
cheap and very large wheels
black tape with 2 circles cut into them over the headlights

baseball cap over drivers gel dripping hair
about 3 earrings dangling from ears (more for females!)
Fat girl with a peroxide bad perm (wet look as well) in passengers seat

Thought id bring this thread to the attention to all the wally nova crew that this SUBARU bbs attracts now.

Yeah cheers mate. Me and the Wallies will enjoy reading it and indeed I just have.

Funny thing is you look like a bitter old grumpy man in grump land and many of the Scooby people on here have gone up in my estimation!

It's called creativity just like when I made carboard boxes into cars when I was 3 or 4. (space for witicism about me still doing it now).

People do what they can, to suit their tastes with the money they have. They make their cars individual and are usually trying to achieve something even if the outcome is crap.

Now, I've got ya slippers here, just looking for those humbugs....

Its not the accessories that are the problem but the idiots that appear to drive them. On my way home the other night i had a yellow nova attached to my rear bumper @ 70 on the dualcarrageway. Body kit and all the usuals (bonnet scoop, turbo sticker in the back window etc.) He had no intention of overtaking and @ 5 mtrs behind my car if i had to brake it would had been pretty nasty! He started swerving behind me as if he was going to overtake but just stayed there! In the end i just accelerated(what he wanted) and @ 120mph he was a spec! utter kn@b! im not a scooby owner(Fiesta RST)but these clowns should be sh@t!

What a load of bo!!ox, out of 8,000 plus members, there are maybe a couple of dozen moaning about Vauxhalls or TTs. How the **** does that make us ALL bigots? How often have you been told to pi55 off cos of your Evo, or your new Skyline? Can't say I've ever seen it. Did you see the members gallery 206 post a couple of weeks ago, and all the people jumping in to tell the ar5ehole to get a life?
Corsas and Novas don't float my boat, but I've never come in here and slagged them off.

Martin,

To think I am calling every single person that uses this board a biggot is a little **** if you ask me. I think you know exactly what I meant, please don't be pedantic.

This is what I feel:
There are a number of people here that really and truely believe that their cars are simply the best thing out there and therefore, become blind to anything and everything else.

Yes, a Scoob bonnet on a Nova is an interesting add-on, but do we really have a right to ridicule them on a public bulletin board? I find that kind of attitude extremely arrogant and typical of bigotry. You pays your money you takes your choices.

It's not even just this board that hosts it, its also evident on the MLR bbs, Scoobybashing its called. Quite pathetic really.

Take this as you will. If you feel this is directed towards you, then so be it. It was a generalisation of the board today.

Blow dog, u sound like a headmaster with a penchant for spanking. If you so upset by posts like these, dont open them, simple as that. I think it makes a refreshing change to see some antagonistic and sarcastic posts.

I could go on about some utterly mundane and pointless threads that are posted that are lucky to get even one response, yet i havent gone all drama queenish and told every1 that im disguisted with these pathetic bores.

Hang up your grey underpants and smile a bit more

What does blow dog mean anyway, not some form of canine romance is it?
I suppose u going to punish me for these comments, two detentions and stinging bum?

Martin,

You seem to have a chip on your shoulder. Take a look at the current state of the General Forum, its dire.

"My Scooby's better than your Nova". It's a demonstration of poor taste.

As for me, well you could do worse than check the other forums on the net and see how I'm oft sticking up for the Subaru community.

Point your guns in the right direction.

I just find it amusing. Someone expresses a view, and everyone tries to tell him he is wrong. Save your time. It is an opinion.

When I want to be individual I put on a tutu, because I believe paid engineers know more about making cars than me.

Don't tell me that putting a scoop on a boggo Nova is cool, and I won't tell you to save for a second hand performance car.

Cem,
It's a case of being called a bigot by someone because of a small minority of Scoobynet members. I've never contributed to one of these threads before because I think they're purile, and I hope they die out. I'm proud to be a member of this forum, and of the people I've met through it.
Could you point out the chip on my shoulder because I can't see it.
Martin.

It strikes me that there is a lot of crossed wires here. The likes of DaimoB and the others here(myself included) are all serious car enthusiasts. We ain't the local boy racers down your one way cicuit every friday and saturday night. We all have our own personal tastes and so on. Please can we not tar each other with the same brush! It's annoying that us 'other drivers' get labelled the same as those tossers running around in a rust bucket of some description. It ain't fair. I notice that recently more and more scoobies are appearing in the likes of Max Poo and Fart car, but do you lot like to admit to it? Prolly not!
So Don't label us all the same and we won't do it to you. As for me, well until I get a HUGE payrise I won't be able to afford one these gorgeous scoobies just yet, so for now I'll stick with me VX.
P.S whats the point of that pink/purple scoob? IMHO destroys the whole 'thing' about scoobies and being able to enjoy thr drive(it's hideous anyway!)
By the way I read EVO mag and not MP or FC.

For all of those who think scooby bonnet vents on a Nova look tacky, what exactly makes you think it looks any better on a scooby? It may have come out of the factory like that but its no excuse! Its the same vent! Also what makes you think just because they have a Nova its because they can't afford something else. I have a small car which is std. I could buy a big lump of metal like a scooby turbo(and could afford to) but hot hatches are far more fun! Anyway doesn't that vent look tacky (just kidding)

I've just been reading through this post, with no intention of replying, but for two things that happened today. A group of people stopped next to my car and commented on how good it looked, std white bodykit , colour coded, lowered , gold wheels. Then later in the day a guy just flipped over the thing, the looks, the sound, (PPP),and just looking at these posts made me realise that the guys with the maxed up Novas and whatever sat next to you trying there damnest to beat you away from the lights just want one thing...your car. Take it as a complement, scoops and all.

I for one think some maxxed cars look very good indeed - more so when you consider what they started out like. These guys do some very imaginative stuff, and some of it meets my taste, some does not. But by and large they are all car enthusiasts and I take my hat off to them. Some of them become very skilled at doing the work themselves, or use it as a showpiece for their business.

Some of the performance figures they extract are really quite astonishing - like a 14s 1/4 from a 2.0 NA Astra in another post. Superb I say.

Not really much different to "us" lot modding engines, fitting bigger wheels, lowering, painting side skirts, different spoilers, tints etc.

I'm not into all the cruises and naked women stuff, but then I'm a little bit older. And not all non-Scooby modders are into the same either.

Enjoy your cars and appreciate the good point on others, and don't take the rip out of other people - it's just a sign of your own insecurity

I would not drive that Punto myself, not my taste, but you've got to admit it is original and quite futuristic.

a) its supposed to be there, and it has a purpose
b) its painted properly, not just in primer, or a "homebase special" with a cheap brush and paint

this is great!keep it going fellas

IMHO, i think a lot of maxed cars look good.the only ones ive never liked are the ones where you cant even tell what car it is i.e the front end is changed so much you cant tell what make it is, let alone what model.
i also think some, not all, scooby owners ARE up their own ****. you see it all the time on this bbs.
but it isnt right that people destroy someones pride and joy just to avoid paying for a scoop or spoiler. thats just feckin theft and a violation of summat u love.

most(not all) nova boys/kevs/garys are just you and i, just usually a bit younger, and maybe dont have the budget we have. i think its funny , good luck to 'em

This tickles me.........
U see a headlight conversion on a Nova it's slated as "sticky back plastic with two holes cut in it" driven by the puffa jacket brigade.
Now a Scooby with a morette headlight conversion.............sheer class, especially with the lowered suspension, big wheels and a feckin great spoiler
Sorry did I forget anything .............
Cheers
anyway you've all got **** cars, mines a cracker
