If you dont want your doors pranged park at the other end of the car park where its quiet you have the mobility to walk there some havent, would you be so ignorant if one of your own family were disabled?? Me thinks not.

There is a valid point craigh made, but not so aggressivly. I parked in a disabled spot in B&Q carpark while I returned some goods, was there 10 mins. Got a £40 parking fine.

My own stupid fault, But if the people who designed car parks had a bit more common sense and made the spots wider, instead of cramming as many cars as possible for the revenue, then I for one wouldnt be taking up a disabled spot again.

Its o.k. to say you put your car first but these cars arn't cheap so I make sure as little damage is done to it as poss.

How sad that this discussion exists. Craig has made a very good point and yet he gets slagged off. Firstly the disabled and parent + baby bays are there for a use. Let the people who need them the most take advantage of them. The attitude of people on here trying to justify their use of these bays reflects society today. "I'm alright Jack, **** everyone else!"

dan4 - thats all well and good if they are being used as intended. The number of times I see able bodied people parking in disabled bays just because someone in their family has put an orange sticker in their car. Same goes for mothers whom have an empty baby seat in the front and think its their god given right to park in the big bays.

P1Fanatic - hence the bit in most post which says "let the people who need them the most use them", meaning disabled people using the bays allocated to them and parent with baby using correct space. I was in no way saying just because you have a sticker or baby chair, you should use a space.

Since reading this post, I have made a point of looking to see who actually does park in these 'disabled bays'. So far it is mainly the suited up rep/business man in their Mercs, Beemers, Audis etc. [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

I have always been confused by these nice big yellow spaces, I dont use them lets get that straight from the start because after having my RB5 mangeled by people that dont care I decided to buy an old rover when I bought my P1 (which is still unmarked after nearly 2 years) when I know I am going to 'town' I use the old bugger cause I dont care. The thing I have always been unsure about is that as the parking spaces are normally on private property can the use of them be enforced by the law?? Oviously vigilante approaches are not a good way forward, but I think they are like the soup tin says about the label 'only a serving suggestion'.

By the way well done on this thread its good to see so many people getting rid of their aggression before they get into their sports cars ;-)

Think u should get things into perspective. Swearing and juvenile comment on your behalf doesnt help your point. I personally do not use disabled spots to park in. Its entirely possible that with your attitude somebody is going to get pi55ed off with you one day and facilitate you with injuries entitling you a sticker for your windscreen that enables you to use the parking spots in question legitimately.

BTW i expect that u didnt order chips in BK as the one u carry around on your shoulder suffices.

Guess what id do as well. Its only a burger king FFS. Im assuming that the person who owned the car would be in there for 5 mins, not exactly a crime against humanity is it? I try not to park in the ever increasing "specialty" parking spots. But it is a rile to see vast swathes of car park reserved for certain types of community, with no actual cars parked there.

So - you don't personally park in these spaces - but you would if opportunity arose

This post may put my in a position where I need a disabled badge? This from you or from one of the other ***** who thinks it's ok to park in these spaces why they stuff their faces

My comments may have been abusive but they are relevant to the type of scum that use or would use these spaces if given the chance. If you fall into that category that includes you.

Your point, valid or not, was worthy of consideration (though I don't believe it belonged in this forum).

The way you put it (and more to the point; tried to defend it), however, undermined your original intent.

Perhaps if you stood back a bit from issues like this, which you clearly feel strongly about, you'd be able get your point across more effectively. In this instance you've been dragged into an insult exchange … and I’m afraid you haven't come out particularly well. Sorry but it's you own fault.

For the record, I took exception to your abuse / swearing and reported this thread to the mod(s) a couple of nights ago.

The message is; keep it focused, keep it in context and keep it clean.

I think's that about enough. I left the thread running in hope that it could develop into a civilised debate without resorting to insults and such like. I don’t like to lock threads and even though this is not really the correct forum, I like to give user the opportunity to air their views.
