Mark,
we can easily get a full day at the track, but it limits the choice of dates quite a lot (practice for the races is normally on a Saturday afternoon, and we can sneak in during the morning).
As Andy said, you would use a whole lot of fuel during a whole day (even Elises use a whole tank in two hours!), as well as tyres and brake pads (Knockhill is very hard on brakes!).
Having said that, we actually ran a full day in March this year, which we got quite cheap (about £65-£70 for the whole day, so about half price!), as it was still classified as "winter" rates, and we could do the same again next year. It's just that March sort of rules out camping/outdoor BBQ, outdoor karting etc.

I would of course go with the majority. Personally, I prefer to spread my track time.
2 hours to drain a tank........I WISH.....
On the dyno, I was using 3lts a minute when it was flat out
Won't be so bad on the track, but scary none the less !!!

Here are some interesting facts, almost all japaneese tuners go to the TSUKUBA circuit to test their track cars, and street cars. The fact is that any car that laps below 1 minute is seriously fast. One of the most famous japaneese tuners is JUN so here are the times:
JUN WRX with EJ25 engine, circuit spec has 567ps/6800 rpm & 68.3kgm/4800 rpm (remember this is circuit spec, it can make more power). Time: 0'58'422
JUN EVO 5 with stroked 2.2L 4G63 engine, circuit spec has 575ps/7200rpm & 64.5kgm/5500 rpm. Time: 0'56'916
Best time before was of a Skyline GTR, 0'57'301 ..... but now the EVO 7 2021cc (higher compression pistons and +0.5) made by HKS/Kansai with less power ~ 500 hp revs higher (turbo HKS GT 3037s) and has a better power range has made 0'56'500.
