P1 to 22B, or am I MAD

Topjimo,
I owned a P1 for 9 months and modified it quite a bit, excluding engine mods or replacememnt ecu which I was seriously thinking about but in the end didn't, I wish now I would have bought a 22B because the money I spent on the P1 could have bought me a UK 22B. I sold the P1 in May and have on order a new M3, but before anyone slates me, I think, if I would have bought a 22B I would still have it.
You know you want it so go and buy the 22B. Good luck mate I hope you find a good one

have to disagree with every one here, the 22b is a great a car no doubt but there is no way i would buy one.
first the car is 3 years old now, so there will be loads of problems starting to develop on them. if you break anything it will take A LOT OF MONEY TO FIX. a standard bumper is anything from £300-500, 22b is around £2000 !! a wing is £3k !!!!!
i will be too worried to drive it as my only car, as a second car it will be perfect though.
so for someone who wants to do 14k a year it should not even be a choice, that is my opinion

I was originally going to get a UK 22B, the deal was in the bag until the seller backed out at the last minute. I have to say though while waiting for the finance to go through I did a lot of research on both the P1 and 22B and I was very worried that I was doing the right thing, the facts didn't compute in terms of price and performance! Ultimately my heart won and I would have gone for the 22B had it still been available. My head told me that it wasn't worth the extra money for albeit fantastic looks and a bit more torque. We are not talking a lot more performance here, Lets be honest about it.
Anyway I got a P1 and I am very happy with it. It gives me loads of fun on and off the road. Quite recently another UK 22B came on the market and my heart leapt back into action and enquired, I found myself doing lots of financial calculations that would enable me to get my paws on the thing. My head won this time and I didn't go for it, mainly because I was bearing the brunt of the main depreciation of the P1. In my opinion the 22B is the ultimate impreza and if you got the money then go for it but I also think its is more money that it is worth. Its a heart thing. Another thing is for how long is it the ultimate impreza, technology is moving on the old 22B is getting on now, personally I think Ill keep my eyes peeled for a future homologation special which im sure will be along at some point.

Agree with web guru. Performance wise it is not worth the premium over another impreza. The only thing is it retains its value much better, and its exclusivity is worth some money. The majority of people woud not know the difference between it and any other two door, so if buying to impress others then again, dont bother.
