Stuck On M25

Well I called the AA traffic line before leaving work. Discovered there were queues from Crawley to the M25, on the M23 and the queues from the M23 ruight round to Dartford so I went the scenic route.
Left Crawley at 5.40 arrived in Gravesed at 7.45. Took the A264 from Crawle, by passed East Grinstead via Lingfield. Meant to go through Speldhurst and Penshurst, and through to Hildenborough, but the girlfriend rang at the exact wrong moment, so I missed the turning.
Therefore used the back roads round Tunbridge Wells, then down Tonbridge High Street, and the A227 out to Gravesend.
Not sure whether it was quicker than the motorway, however at least I was moving!
