Do I buy an Imprezza Turbo or Lotus Elise?

I've had my scooby for 3-4 months now. My previous car for 2 years was an Elise 111S and I have to say that I agree with Tractor. The only thing I will add is that you would not believe how loud the 111S is inside the cabin at motorway speeds. If you do a lot of motorway commuting then it gets very tiring after a while. When I changed jobs this eventually pissed me off sufficiently for me to get rid of it for the scooby.
I believe the 111S is worse than the standard model in this respect as it has a shorter ratio gear box. This gets you improved acceleration but means you're pulling even more revs at motorway speeds.
If you're not going to spend much time on the motorways then go for the elise. As Tractor said, the handling is sublime.
My ideal car would be an Elise with soundproofing equal to the scooby and with a bit more power (like about 200bhp say Hey I can dream can't I ?).

Tractor: I'm from Rhondda in South Wales m8.. I take it you're an Imprezza owner?
I do zero motorway miles. Something small and nippy would be perfect but like it's been said it would be a good idea to test drive both before making any decisions!

Go for Celica GT4, £6,000 car with £1,500 worth of mods pushing out 350 bhp~320 lbft of torque. Very reliable car and is total quality

Herts? That rules that out I guess... I know a guy who recently bought an Elise though so I'll probably ask him if I can have a look at his motor at some point...
