Of course asylum seekers need to be given **** all. However, homeless people here who ARE british deserve the money.
I never said firemen do a shyte job or anything. I just feel the amount of money they get for the amount of work isnt SO bad.
If they had simply been complaining that they wanted more money, i think ppl would back them. But to be so selfish as to purposely put mine and my families lives at risk, through THEIR CHOICE is unacceptable.
And even after being offered a rise, they cannot accept it because it ruins their cushty part time working arrangements where they have another job which gets them even more money. Surely they can see its one or the other!!!!

Yoza - sadly I think MANY firemen KNOW its a futile fight but what can they do?? They feel they MUST go out in support of their Union.
They voted overwhelmingly to strike, BUT I bet if a vote was taken NOW they would vote to return to work with 4% and ANOTHER 5% in 6 months when they start modernising THEN ANOTHER 7% 6 months later when they have implemented all the Bain report.
I really believe that they WOULD return for that if voted on
Pete

I see this evening that Andy Gilchrist wants to take on TonyJ. Ceaser Blair.
Can someone remind me what kind of VD causes delusions of grandeur and megalomania. Is it the syph? Can we get Andy the number for a decent STD clinic?

lol fast bloke ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
i think the true meaning has come through from gilchrist now..
hes not after more wages.. or anything better for the firefighters....
hes sold them a dummy and is after making a big name for himself.
perhaps this left labour has been planning this all along...
never liked him... never seems honest... very arrogant...
and with the government's reaction.. perhaps they knew that this is what he was after...
nurses and docs, etc deserve more money.
so do project on green energy
and so do i!![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
but its not there.
on the modernisation stuff...
i can understand the arguement that full time and retained working together can be a problem if the retained have to respond to a pager, but the full time are in a station waiting on the call.
but... the idea that they cannot have a central joint control station seems bizare!
i didnt realise that they were not all together... seems logical that they should be...
i read that they were going to do that someplace.. combine them... but the fire control peeps complained because the partition was transparent!
how sad is that!
i hate labour... what labour stands for.. or rather.. old labour...
hate unions...
ban them all...
its not fair on the rest of the community... ******* up the country when the world is shakey in lots of ways...
definatley not working for the good of the country in the longer term.. never mind the shorter term.
in answer to pete's question...
they are doing it because someone (gilchrist) has cast a voodoo spell on them and he is doing a 3rd riecht (speeling) move in the union circles...
firking fed up of all the ferking about...
