Didn't get to meet you Jeff. But had a top day 
I was a passenger in the Civic Type R about to pull out of the pit lane, when all of a sudden I see Gossy sliding round the start finish straight, fish tail a few times and pulls a 360° right in front of us
That was nearly a brown trousers moment there, but well controlled Gossy

85 DB ...waht a load of boll0x..my push bike makes more noise than that... WTF......No modded cossie would ever pass than noise reg
and thats a fact !not with a modded exhaust on it defo wont

Brown Trousers moments.....hmmm....didn't have many of those today having not been allowed out on track in a completely road legal, 52 Plate CATTED (yes it passes emissions) car 
Wonder what the dB readings the helicopter gives off.
Just as well I was wearing brown jeans today - its as close as we bloody got
Our good friend Martin didn't have much fun in his amazingly built Mi16 Pug205. After managing to lap pretty much quicker than any car out on the track (Bye bye M5, Bye bye TVR, Bye Bye a lot of Scoobies - front wheel drive obviously works quite well...sometimes) he was 'told off' for having a slightly loose back end . and then failing noise limits halfway through the day having passed in the morning (his throttle bodies are enclosed in a baffled cold air box too) - went home pretty upset. We all got up at 5:00am this morning to prep and load the cars.
Good to see you all again today - just wish it was under more enjoyable circumstances.
So - After spenting 20 hours working on the car last weekend (and another 20 from Craig too, about 10 from Dingy) Professional race team putting another 20 hours into the car for Geometry, Cornerweighting and rollbar setup (stuff we cannot do - thankyou Tollbar Racing) at great expense. Hiring a race driver at great expense to help with more car setup out on track, and more work on the car till 1:00am this morning (yes - 4 hours sleep) the best I managed was driving the car from the trailer to the pit garage. Craig got the honours back to the trailer.
I think next time I go to bedford I will be taking a race-prepped milk float...I will obviously remove bottles from the back of it if they are clinking too much for the noise meter

JohnF - your large drift onto the pit straight was lovely - a tiny little twitch at the end of the slide but very nicely executed (dont need to mention control because I know you have it m8).

I'm sorry for all the people who had noise level problems and weren't allowed out. Palmer obviously have spent a large amount of money on their facility and they have to operate within the local noise rules otherwise they will be shut down.
The Westie looked great but once it started up with Pete driving I must admit that I didn't think that it was going to get under the regulation dB limit. It is very loud, much louder than a lot of racing bikes ! Anyway, I hope that you get it out on track soon 'cos it looks awesome.
TaviaRS....nice badges on the back of the Skoda ....1.4i indeed. Glad you liked the S4 !

Sure fact then that no cossies [unless standard] will get on then! And what was all the black flagging about? I went out with Gossy and he got black flagged and told it was for driving 'wildly' 
and also that as Jonathon Palmer had flown in in his helicopter - all people were to drive carefully....what a load of bOllox [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

It was a top day.
Who was that in the STi7 who went off the track by a good 200 metres just after overtaking me down the back straight.
I had never span a car before today ever, but I managed to do it on the very first lap and then my next out lap. However I did learn and managed the rest of the day spin free!
I also salute Clare for driving very well, she may soon be a match for us boys yet!

Pete did appear to be having a few problems thought he was going to flatten the battery....I did like the army of pushers involved in getting Pete moving (sorry Pete, probable harder than it looked )

Ian, I feel just like you mate (we spoke just before you sadly rolled it back on the trailer).
I can not believe Palmer & Co wasted all our time. My car has a full Scoobysport exhaust - 'fast road' i'd call it, not 'race', but I too was sent packing after being black flagged once I started picking up the pace a little after bedding my new brakes in...
Notwisthstanding wanting to check out and enjoy my recent thousands of pounds worth of improvements (and the race to get them fitted in time) it is a pathetic application of the noise rules - especially after the huge delay in checking us all out individualy in a drive by... Guess you too passed then, like me... Micra's on Kwik fit microbore only from now one then?
Bedford Autodrome will go down the pan if they can not sort out the noise issue with the residents that reside 2 miles away. Also if I was Palmer, I'd have apologised to us personally when promising to return the cash...

To be fair (and I think Gossy would agree) I think he was ummm, overstepping the mark on occasions (he span twice in my rear-view mirror). Apparently it had something to do with dodgy tyres.....

its pretty hard to set off without making a racket in the XTR2. The trick is not to use the throttle and just roll off on the clutch - easy to do as the car only weight 480kilos - it will pull from 40-70 very briskly from 2500rpm in sixth - the Hayabusa has amazing torque for a bike engine. The flywheel in a busa engine is about the same weight as a 2p coin and they rev very freely. I dont really touch the gas now until rolling - otherwise - well - you heard - but I wonder if the folks in the village did
Shame it didn't get out - would have loved jim to take pete for a few brisk laps.
if you want to see what busa engines are capable of check out the 500+bhp turbocharged road bikes on http://www.superkaos.com/.
Next summer we will have a turbo - so that will keep the noise down.

I agree with all of the above.
Heart goes out to Lee/Lisa for getting everything going on this event.
It is a shame that Bedford are getting worse on the noise regs. I can see a lot of cars not being able to get on that circuit. Maybe the weather conditions had a hand in it.
I am more upset that I get three friends with RX7's to come along to a trackday, pass the noise regs. EVEN ON A DRIVE BY!!! And then still be kicked off for being too loud.
I think Palmer Sport need to sort something out about this.

Danny - I agree - a whole load of effort on SIDCs part - but just problems on the day for us.
The 7's looked luuuvly.
Its very rare to see that many at once.
Still a car I would love to own.
I think there are going to be problems in the future. Bedford run fantastic corporate events (I have attended one and they are amazing). In todays problematic economy many companies won't be able to afford to send their staff on such days as I'm sure you can imagine how much it would cost to send 25 of your staff to an event. This the leaves private car/trackday enthusiasts who are addicted and (where possible) spend cash to use their fantastic facilities - and lets face it - they are good. If the likes of you and I cannot pass noise regs then unfortunately bedford will loose revenue as a side effect of this which is a real shame.
We performed our own little experiment when leaving the facility (and yes cars a plenty were still on track). We stopped just by the gates and turned off the engine....could we here the cars on the track ???? no.
