You boys are getting a little frisky.....a little punt at Stadium Bend in the dry should wipe a few smiles off a few faces.....
I personally am still in my 'winter plumage' so cold isn't going to be a problem (too many mince pies !)
See you all tomorrow and please be there on time.
Cheers
Jeff

bad news because team 'The not so good, the blob, and the fugly' suffer from increased drag in such conditions
I don't think this applies to the little bony one in our team, does it? I think you know who I'm talking about ;D
Do try and keep up Wilshire - back in about Vol 2 of the Fellowship of the Ding (AKA this unfeasibly long thread) there was a long and in-depth analysis of exactly why our team would win, if it was wet or, preferably, snowing

Well done to the "Carrot Crunchers of Bristol" once again, Mark, Andrew and Lisa.
It was a good day, I thoroughly enjoyed that track. I am pleased with my times considering I haven't even seen that track before.
Cheers

Glad you fun....
I was doing 37 sec laps on the longer circuit probable 4-5 secs faster than the Thunderkarts !
Damn fast down the back straight....sounded awesome, only problem is that it's £4K

Now - why did no-one tell me that it's not as easy as it looks?
I thought: driving around a circuit in a go-kart, how difficult can that be? Well after unintentionally leaving the track twice in my first few laps, I decided that maybe a bit more caution was called for. Still, I was pleased that our novice team managed to avoid coming last, and by the end of it we were lapping *only* 4-6 seconds off the pace! I will remember for a long time the feeling of intense horror as I came round stadium more or less flat out into the right hander that gets tighter and tighter, seeing the kerb coming at me obscenely fast and suddenly rediscovering my relationship with God: Please God, let me get round this bend, please God....
Cheers to Jeff for organising and also thanks to all the more experienced drivers for their (predominantly) tolerant attitude to the slightly unothrodox driving of our team.

Probable better residuals as well
Charlie
I'm please that you where able to re-affirm your faith while taking part It isn't as easy as it looks I remember the look of surprise/shock of one of the novice team members then I drove around the outside of him through stadium with the back out (I'm a legend in my own mind !). And the guy who was spinning on virtually every corner who appeared surprised when I suggested that he only brake while in a straight line

Jeff,
thanks for organizing a great day. Now I have fully recovered the use of my arms and hands!! it was on reflection a good days racing very clean, great track and apart from the fact that we went through three karts (clutch falling off had to be the best moment) we still managed a respectable mid field placing. I would like to offer apologies to my two team mates for my first outing which I approached with all the subtly of a bull in a china shop resulting in one or two 'ahem' spins!!.
Look forward to the next one!

The guy wandering around with a camera was a friend of mine on his first outing with his new shiny digital SLR. I'm getting some pics from him but he mainly took pics of the people he knew (i.e. my team and Team Poordrive) but I'll post up some decent ones, once I've sorted them out.
They are not half bad (not in Mr L's league obviously but v.good none the less!)

Cheers Jeff for organizing.
Glad it was dry even though it was bloody freezing.
Battered & bruised - Stadium bend is a struggle when you rattle around in the seat.
Sounds like all us SW lot (read carrot crunchers) had a good time, hope everyone else did as well.
It's all a bit quiet on here after the event. Lots of pre-race banter and then nothing
Cheers

Yes thanks for a good day.
We qualified 4th having never seen the track. Had a good race only 1 breakdown.
Stadium bend is nice just remember to stay out of the water lol.
Finished 4th so not bad for a Carrot cruncher.
Who won then not a SOUTHERNER team was it.
Great day when is the next.

You organise it and I'm there !
Stadium is one of 'the' bends in karting in the UK (IMHO). Once they have extended the track and re-surfaced it Rye will be back to what it should be.
