Also bear in mind that the STi options list when purchasing a new STi is quite long (and includes some nice stuff ) and this makes it difficult to be certain of what is and is not standard. I think the spec levels also change between the different versions. For example, my friend Scott Davies bought an STi 5 RA V-Ltd from a guy called Glen who imported it (bought it from new) from Japan. Luckily Glen passed on the original paperwork and from that you could see that the car had:

Full interior including blue front seats (and alcantara trim)
No radio (not sure about speakers)
Electric (Folding) Mirrors
Climate Control
Electirc Windows
Roof Vent
Ally Bonnet
IC Water Spray
Adjustable Electric Centre Diff
Quick Steering Rack (15:1)
Close ratio gearbox (including 19.8mph/1000rpm 5th gear)
Front LSD Diff
Closed Deck Block
No side or rear plastic sills

I *think* the Closed Deck Block and Front LSD were options and not part of the standard STi 5 RA V-ltd spec but nobody seems to be quite certain.

Due to the lighter weight and lower gearing, his RA with just a full decat system on it felt significantly faster than a P1. In fact Scott took a friend who had a P1 out in it and he was blown away

I wanted this car when he sold it but didn't like the ridiculous insurance that came with it (due to London postcode and parked on street).

Wink

my STi5 Type RA V-Ltd came with a front LSD but higher 5th gear, which i threw away and installed the lower 5th.

All the V-Ltd STi5 TypeRA's come with the kit you list, the only thing they dont have is a closed deck block as standard. All IMHO of course. I am sure STi has a pissup on a friday lunch, as what you get can be a bit of a lotery. The gearbox and chassis codes are damn acurate though!

John,

I'm "fairly" certain that they didn't come with the front LSD and I thought that like the Closed Deck, was an option. Do you know who Chris sold the RA to? Perhaps he has passed on the paperwork....(but then again, it's probably in Japanese).

well, i had Park Lane do a search on my car, as they imported it new. They went through their invoices and it was ordered as a bog standard STi5 TypeRA V-Ltd. I know i have a front LSD for 2 reasons. firstly, i can feel it when i drive, secondly, i have had it in my hands when the box was rebuilt.
