Let's face it, most people involved in motor racing are full of themselves. This Phil character was no exception.

Some simple searching throws up:

http://www.mobygames.com/developer/s...loperId,41208/

which then leads to:

http://www.take2games.co.uk/kontakt/job_01.html who are a games publisher, who are looking for games testers in Lincoln.

This would suggest that he works (or did) for Take 2 Interactive.

It wouldn't take much more effort to track him down from the above info.

What 49K plonker he really was, thought the guy was gonna start a fight in that bar in Monaco, as it as been said how many of us would have loved that track time and advice from DC and JH at Rockingham.

Wish i had a chance like that.

How about an e-mail to Take 2 requesting clarification that Phil Dean did not work on , say Grand Theft Auto, as "I am thinking of buying it for my son for Xmas, but I just couldn't buy anything that this ******** worked on, as he clearly knows nothing"

A search on UK Info Disk only shows up one family called Deane if you search only Lincoln. Looks like he has a sister too, she must be so proud. Shame they appear to be ex-directory, the phone would have been red hot with offers of works drives after last nights stunning performance

Oh well, if his race career doesn't take off I'm sure the Diplomatic Corp could find a job in International Relations to suit him, he certainly made an impression whilst in Monaco

Agree with everything said already, what a complete to55er.

Fortunately living in Wales I can cringe at it again when it's aired on S4C (Welsh Channel) next Monday

The best bit - without question - were the mentors egging on the judges to fail him.

Absolutely brilliant - especially when out testing and trying not to let that guy through - my sides are aching from laughter!

I watched the show and was disappointed at the "trainees" poor showing. Even so, I doubt many if any of the contributors on this thread would do much better if at all. That fitness training programme was pretty strenuous and thorough ... be honest, would you have shaped up well to that treatment and still be able to cut it?

Another thing, I thought the behaviour of some of those well known "names" in motor racing was quite frankly uncool. Where is it written that a successful professional racing car driver can also be a good teacher? Imparting such specialised skill is extremely difficult and I suspect those tutors were not half as clever at passing on information as they believed themselves to be. Then there's programme editing for effect rather than conveying an accurate picture. All these things play a part so, was what we watched a true reflection of the story? I wonder .

Finally, be truthful, would you really have done any better even if you were able to give 100% commitment? If you can answer yes truthfully to that, then boy, have you have missed your vocation by a long way ....

As much as I admire your ability to try and see the good side - this guy was a nightmare. He really believed from day 1 he could beat Schumacher.

He made no attempt to try and learn and whenever you gave any kind of praise it just made his arrogance worse.

It was a great shame because he had a number of people giving up their time and the benefit of their experience - all for nothing. It was a great waste and I'm sorry we didn't have someone who would have worked harder for it.

It was a great opportunity lost.

Yes. totally, 100% certain i could have done a much better job and given the regulars a bloody good run for their money. And yes, i probably have missed my vocation, but when i was younger i didnt have any cash so had never had the oportunity to drive anything other than a ****box. Thats just the way it is for most people who have some tallent, they dont always realise they have any until late on in life in relative terms.

People like that tosser are a waste of space, some other young tallent could have had a great oportunity.

EXACTLY ... Lack of opportunity to explore and realise any potential for most .... a recipe for underachievement on a massive scale ..... who knows what their true talents are when in their teens or early twenties. There could be some spotty twit pushing a pen in a pokey office somewhere who has more talent and potential than both Schumachers combined ... and he will never have the opportunity to find that out.

He was a w4nker through and through!

His attitude stinks! i think i could of done alot better tan that ****!
ive had instruction before and the best thing is to listen and do exactley what they say!

ive had it in my profession, you try an try and they say i know, i know that, worst thing you can say is i know, coz they fecking dont know as they would of been doing it!

i agree not everyone can teach something there passionate about but he was just unteachable! clever! and a ****!
You need to apply yourself and listen to more experienced people to learn and that **** would of never done that!

i mean when the lady said to him, tell me a little about yourself, he replys my names **** thats a little! what a reply id of smacked him!
