This outcome from JP comes as no surprise, and frankly I don't blame him.

You (collectively) pillory him and his organisation, and then expect him to roll over and play nice ? It doesn't work like that.

Given how many people are critical of him and his organisation, why are you bothered that SIDC can't book there anymore ? (other than for the sake of arguing the toss)

I suspect JP + staff can now concentrate on the organisers that don't consume so much of their resources, and cause so much grief.

Well done JP.

Seems to me there has been a load of mud slinging going on here, some maybe justified, some maybe not.

BUT

what come across from this response is that Mr Palmer thinks his circuit and staff are beyond reproach and that he is not interested why some of his customers are upset, whether justified or not. A business needs customers to operate, the customers are doing the business a favour not the other way round.

He may have enough customers to afford to **** some of them off now, but this isn't a sustainable way to run a business.

But, like someone said, its his business and he can run it like he wants to.

My advise: get over it and go elsewhere.

Mark you are tedious and clearly a very bored individual to go on about a toipic so much - esp as you werent involved. Your tit for tat quoting original post style is so boring, purile and uniquely dull on Scoobynet.

If it pleases you to offend decent and logical people who were genuinely dissapointed and wronged, then carry on in the vain and self destructive quest for the last word.

Pathetic really.

I think the problem is raising your leg to have a fart when approaching a corner will upset the natural poise of your machine.

Eat less before trackdays is the answer.

Question

Do you think so? I'm not sure , I checked my wheels and all the ball bearings were shiny although the board was a little tatty. The wheels were very shiny, like glass, in fact, but it can't have been that. Anyway if I can get this issue sorted out then it's very quiet, that's the important thing.

Paul, it might have only have been 3 scoobs (think maybe more, not sure) however, other cars were disallowed, notably Craig and Ian's Westie thingy (XT2? never sure what they are called, sorry).

An not having a go, just saying it was not just scoobs. please don't take any offence at my comments

Craig

If you can't be serious then **** off, farting all the way round the track never stopped you cornering in the past, that is, in the old days, when you used to actually drive on track...

And another thing if I eat less then I have even less "fuel", to use Davyboy's simplistic suggestion, with which to get drive to the ground for those powerslide moments that I'm so good at.I only included the above photo to show what can happen if you're less experienced than me.

BTW I'm thinking of painting my board with blackboard paint do you think that might help?

Thats rich coming from one of the biggest muppets after claudius and chip_butty.
I'll take that as a complement. Thanks.
Youv'e personally reduced this whole thread into something straight out of a schoolground.
No, not at all. It was like that before I arrived.
You seem to get off on riling people up and picking holes in other peoples posts and then have the nerve to accuse others (whom were actually affected) of over reacting.
No, I don't get off on it. But excuse me if I'm slightly annoyed about seeing something I care about (Scoobynet and the SIDC) turn into a total shambles because of the inability of others to restrain themselves when handing out abuse.

I've tried, in this thread, to maintain a lucid and coherent point of view. I've not insulted anyone (okay, so I called Aaron an idiot, but since it was a reciprocation for his 'northern monkey' comment I think we're all square now). I've clarified that I totally agree with the anger at people of their treatment regarding the noise regs at Bedford several times, but that my issue is with the attitude of those on this site who seem to be happy to be vocal and abusive to the point of spoiling things for everyone else.

What a lot of people here are forgetting is that a very large number of non-internet SIDC members are now effectively tarred with the Scoobynet brush, despite the fact that many of them may not even know what SN is. After all, I suspect that JP probably communicates with other trackday organisations and clubs, and I can't see any reason for him to keep this entire debacle under his hat - far from it.

So the SIDC and its members will probably now have an unshakeable reputation for being abusive, idiotic troublemakers, all because of the actions of a few Scoobynetters.

I just think that's very sad.

Less of the in your posts would help.

3 Imprezas weren't allowed on track if I remember and thats it. Why has everyone else got the ****? It didn't affect anyone on here hardly
Paul, I was miffed that my track time proper (barring the 5 warmup/ sighting laps) didn't start until approx noon. That is 2.5 to 3 hours after the published start time, and that is what I posted in the original thread.

Markus

No offence taken so don't worry I am just trying to put my point across that not many subarus were affected. I am aware that Craig was not allowed on track (saw him and spoke to him there) but JP has not banned westfields (yet )

TaviaRS

I forgot about the fiasco in the morning That was a complete joke (JP should have only charged half day track rates for less than 4 hours on track). I can see why people who went got upset but I didn't see Marko there What the F*ck has he got to do with it? Overall my point is that most people who complained and upset the mood on scoobynet between JP and the SIDC did not even attend the day.

Just my 2p's worth

Mark please stop quoting people.
Why? What is the problem with quoting? There's specific tags for it, and it aids in context when replying - particularly if several posts have been made in the interim.

Why do people find it such a problem?

Question

Paulpalmer - why do I have to be there to take issues with the SIDC ban caused as a direct result of people on Scoobynet? Whilst the actual incident on the day was the catalyst for the SN arguments/abuse, it's actually relevant to the SIDC being banned as a result of the abuse on Scoobynet.

(there, didn't quote - everyone happy now? )

Its not a problem, its just irritating,in a David Brent kind of way,as is starting your reply with "er" or "erm",which is more Alan Partridge tbh.

Its just constructive feedback, rather than a criticism.I would not want Scoobynet to slip into a blame culture.

Right first off jonathan i personally think you are a self rightous pr4tt.

Your comments IMHO on both threads are BANG out of order firstly how could any one cheat on the sound test as when tested at the entrance to your site we where tested with a bloke putting his head in the window to see the rev counter the next test was conducted on track by YOUR OWN EMPLOYEES mine being driven to my discust @7000rpm bouncing of the rev limmiter in 3rd gear which i find is digusting to treat someone elses car like that.

Secondly it was YOU and YOUR company that changed the noise limit no where on your website does it say we can chnage the rules without prior notice so i think you will find it is you who has CHEATED people and broken YOUR CONTRACT with SIDC.

However that is not my real problem my problem is that this was advertised as a driver DEVELOPMENT DAY .In the briefing with your motorsport diector he told us that this was the track to push your car and yourself to the limit safely, however i got black flagged 3 times for pushing the limits of my car. Now i dont know about you but in my books a day is a day. NOT 3 and a HALF hours which is what most of us got on track. Now if you had paid £170 for a days track use and only got 3 1/2 hrs time on track would you be upset (now let me think from your last 3 responses on this board) youd have thrown your toys out of the pram and screemed CHEAT, THIEVES etc etc cause if you look at it that is what you have done to 40+ drivers that arrived at your facility, you have cheated them out of there hard earned money to line your own pockets no matter which way you look at it you have fraudulanty obtained money from 40+ people.

the reason for me putting it like this is simple you MOVED THE GOAL POSTS you changed the posted Db level without proir warning or reasonable explaination at the time.

Some people are happy to accept your feeble excuse of a reply but i wont i want MY MONEY BACK or at least some refund for such a diobolicle **** up by yourself and your company. There is no one else to blame but yourselves

The other thing is why have you done what you have done is it because you cant handle people sticking up for themselves and not rolling over when YOU say so. I think you banning SIDC is stupid i wish i was a share holder in your company cause id vote to have you removed from the board as you wouldnt have my financial interests in hand

I feel sorry for you as most of the people who use this board i would imagine will not be using your facility
Talk about cut your nose off to spite your face

As to the people that got asked to leave i feel very sorry for you for the way that palmer motorsport and in particular Mr jonathan palmer ( god iam so ashamed to have the same christian name as you) as handled this whole situation.

I wonder how many other bbs's have read this and thought is there any point in going to bedford i know of 1 already that isnt going because of your dont give a **** attitude

Many regards for the future in your not so good company

Jonathan (gossy)

Has it occurred to you that you might achieve more if you sent a rational email to Palmersport rather than the rather unnecessary post above, which quite frankly is rather selfish as it does nobody else on here any favours for going to Bedford in future.

For your information I spoke to Jonathan Palmer for 15 minutes this morning and managed to have a perfectly rational and sensible conversation with him.

Ask yourself a question - If you were Jonathan Palmer, would you actually want anyone with your approach at your facility anyway?

Couldn't have said it better myself Dave.

Oh, and gossy, Palmersport have already confirmed and agreed that they will arrange a full refund for anyone who was denied the trackday on the basis of noise restrictions.....
