Yep, it was bitmap bros. I loved Xenon2, too...

Actually, my in-car PC has enough power to run the amiga emulator quickly... I have a cunning plan

Classic. Had it on the Amstrad CPC 64 - awesome. Getting in the tanks with the uprated (pink?) ammo/shells was cool.

GP2 - PC
Indy 500 - PC
Colin McRae 2 - PS
GTA 3 / GTA VC - PS2

but best of all - the original Need for Speed on the 3DO

Superb games, and redefined the whole FPS scene IMHO

lol, so others do remember geoff minter classic gaming moments

wot about hovver bovver ? still got all his stuff at home somewhere on me 64 like.....attack and revenge of the mutant camels, sheep in space, ancipital, iridis alpha etc

hmmm favourite....cant name just one but here are a few from long time ago upto now.....

Defender - Atari VCS
Way of Exploding Fist- C64
Elite - C64
Impossible Mission - C64
The Bards Tale - C64
M.U.L.E - C64
Doom - PC
Quake series - PC
GT3 - PS2


now with the internet and online gaming guess i'd have to say Counter Strike rules

Hovver bovver - see link above, now available on the PC

As for Rocket Ranger, that was a classic in its own way but not a patch on the effect that "Defender of the Crown" had . Crap game, but simply stunning in other ways...

ooo games one of my fave subjects hehehe

Some of my old systems and my faves as i remember them :-

coleco vision - donkey kong
vektrex - asteroids (just looks right in wireframe!)
vic 20 - hmmmmm cant remember that many.....tho i remember the bomber game mentioned earlier
atari xl - bruce lee, pitfall
c64 - zaxxon, paradroid, falcon patrol, pitstop 2, beach head (2), wizball, exploding fist, last ninja, kevin thomas football manager, nemises the warlock, barbarian, IK+, mercenary - there were just so many good and original titles!!
nes - mario
spectrum - nasty rubber keyed thing , used to love sabre wulf tho, and jetpac and bugsy rest of it was just a sprite collision filled beeping pile
amstrad cpc464 - roland in time
bbc - revs, defender, ELITE!
amiga - sensible soccer, IK+ (or was it a year designation i cant remember), lotus, xj220, speedball.
megadrive - sonic, john maddens (lost the plot since!)
snes - mario kart, mario, street fighter 2
pc - doom, quake, half life, ut (see a pattern here...)
playstation - turismo, tekken 2
saturn - sega rally, virtua fighter
nintendo 64 - zelda, mario
atari jaguar - tempest
playstation 2 - gt3, gta3,
xbox - halo, rallisport, motogp (yes its that good imo)
gamecube - still waiting......

I also played F111 Interceptor (?) on the Amiga a lot. It was the first proper filled-in 3D flying sim/shoot-em-up. Spent hours practising landing on the carrier, and then shooting down Air Force 1.

Boulderdash was excellent!!! Had me infront of the screen for hours, collecting those diamonds, Played it on the C64 but wish they would make it again!!

Everquest (online MMORG) on the PC. I just wish it wasn't so utterly addictive and involving that it's actually more like a second job...

two very good games mentioned there, boulderdash was addiction and playability personified!

everquest also a ground breaking game imo.
