It is a manufacturing fault, because it's an undersized piston apparently (so i was told). The replacement piston is fractionally bigger so fits the bore better.
This is all based on what i have been told you understand.

I think we should start a UK Subaru Slapper club too.
On a serious note, I really think we should do this as we'll have more power with Subar UK if we group together.
I dont mind drafting a letter up to Subaru UK but I'll need some backing.
Can everyone who has a problem with piston slap please email me your name, your model of Impreza, and MY year. I dont know if Subaru UK will want chassis numbers but we can deal with that if they request it.
