Insurance on GTi-6 would be a LOT for a 20 year old though...

Just got a Rallye myself, superb cars.

yeah insurance would be too much fro my 20 yearold brother, besides 306 gti is a bit too mega for him he's coming from a 1.1 punto.

think a 106 gti would be better, i got to convince him though as he thinks they are too small in size!

I'd love a 106 GTI. I saw one for sale today on my way in to work. £4,500. R reg in gold. It looked wicked.

as quick as possible about 3-5 years old for £6k max.
A 20 year old could insure and buy a lot of car for under 6K maybe go a bit older, 205 1.9 Gti / RST / Golf Gti and you will get a lot more car for your money. Lets face it build quality maybe better on some newer models (not all) but a lot of older cars are better value £ for £. Power steering is the only thing that I missed although my MK2 Golf Gti had it.

no sorry I haven't got any pics of the civic vtec but you could try a honda bbs. It isn't that pretty looking, but then thats half the fun! Surprise alot of warm hatches.

I had a Civic 1.6 VT 150bhp MY 91, it was bloody quick and same engine as the crx but I prefered the handling. You can pick up a mint one of these for well under 2k. I know that a standard one got a 0-60 of 7.2 and that was with proper timing gear!! my mate had a 92 celica gt-four and I can honestly say there was no difference in performance until you got above a ton!
