NOSnova,

400hp? Are you sure? Somehow I don't think that's possible on your car.

What is your best estimate at what it's pushing out at the moment?

for 400 Id guess your using the xe? a turbo and nitrous..

Ill find some pictures of my old nova.

See you at well lane.. ill make sure you get taken out in my car... Youll have to excuse the fact that nova dashboards are better than scoob dashes (92 on nova though!)

I wouldnt say im small either.

R19KET (Mark),

Remember me from earlier this year? You promised then you would not succumb to posting your figures on the BBS for exactly the reason that posting has now pushed out, ie NOS questioning the validity of the graph. You might be better off emailing those of us who ask you directly and are genuinely interested, without the public slanging that these kinds of figures always bring about.

Glad to se you have sorted out some of the "teething problems". Just when I was dead set on Ecutek/Power E remap you set my vehicular juices running again. Damn you, sir!

Will email you later.

Cheers

WB

Nos Nova

I think you mixed up Dave Wallis with Harvey?? the guy who actually got over 400bhp at WL on a map that was not like a 'grenade'...

Anyones welcome to WL4 - whether you would get a run is another matter..I seem to remember a guy in a Fiesta going on a couple of times and a chap in an MR2 turned up a couple of events ago....

I would expect Harvey to get a bit more once the map is optimised

Will be interesting to see the realistic limits of a 2litre Scoob, and then see what it gets at PE and PS just for completeness sake. That said I'm not prepared to get an extra say 30bhp with a huge turbo, that spools up slower. I do wonder how you can get over 500bhp out of a 2litre Evo, without huge lag? - is it possible, once the internals have been completely uprated on a 2 litre conversion should there be much difference between and Scoob and Evo....?

steve Mc > on the evo front, been snooping on the evo bbs, the person who had the big bhp on his evo is now selling that turbo as it is too laggy.

Nos,

apart from being a **** - you would be welcome to my place at WL4 if you don't get a slot - then you are guaranteed a run.

And by the way - the figures for Marks car are very real - as many on here know - I have driven it - part of Marks ultimate testing (I failed )

Trout,

you failed?????

you may be ugly but you dont look like a gudgeon pin to me.

Plus if you were a gudgeon pin, would think the engine would be a 25,000 litre not a 2.5 litre!

Steve,

You cant have a 500bhp 2 litre turbo charged engine with a conventional turbo running realistic compression that isnt laggy, unless you run antilag or nitrous at the bottom. You could manage it maybe with variable geometry turbos, but I havent seen these in high power applications yet. They tend to be used on diesels.

Adam,

The only application I can think of for high power variable geometry turbos was turbocharged F1 cars, when they were getting 1200 to 1500 BHP out of about 1.5 litres But then they didn't have to last 50,000 miles... these days Aerocharger markets VATN turbos which will happily run 1 bar of boost all day long, but of course that won't make huge power on a 2 litre Subaru flat four, but would be quite interesting on an Audi Garrett, Mitsubishi, and IHI all make variable geometry turbos, presumably KKK, Hitachi etc do so as well.

Cheers,

Pat.

I would just like to say that the fitting of the air injector control and the catch tank look like the most tidy bits of the lot

Who makes the downpipe for that turbo? or was it a one off?

Always wondered how the air intake path could be improved and that would be ideal.

Mark?

David,

Thanks, good picture.

Alan,

The headers, up, and down pipes are custom. However, there are currently in production some very similar parts, designed to take the Garrett GT turbo's (GT30, and GT35 series).

This will allow the pipe from the turbo, to FMIC to pass under the inlet manifold, in either it's standard position, or reversed.

Trout,

Yes, thanks for your help, with fitting the air injectors, and some of the hosing. In particular, the 30m umbilical

I had lots of help from friends. Pat was truely amazing, and he did a fantastic job sorting the Pectel wiring loom, and the rest of the electrics. The rest know who you are.

But I'd like to say a special thanks to Adam "where are my Marigolds" M, just for staying away :P

Mark.
