There is a full CCTV setup linked to the control room so I think he was being watched but I don't know if he was asked to leave after stacking it big time, but he certainly didn't go back on.

There was a little red mini with a passenger holding a camcorder as well but I don't know if they saw that.

To book a trackday goto www.donington.co.uk and have a look.

As for trackday insurance, I went through Edger and Lawson which is Competition Car Insurance (website available). They said donmington was a low risk track and I got charged just over £150 with two additional drivers. Not bad really. Would of been £117 for just myself.

RedKop - What where you driving, a rover pechance?

Me in a Rover? - No way!

I just think you ought to get things into perspective!

The driver in the old Jag has been called a muppet...
Quotes from other replies....
"Glad that rover trashed it. He deserved to"
"had to laugh though cos he was a right ********"
"His car sounded sh!te anyway"

If it had been a Scoob driven like that, would you have said those things? I think not!

You obviously never saw the Nissan 200SX losing it a few times when he came on to the pit straight from Goddards!

DO you mean the Nissians driven by the Japanese guys? They could powerslide like gods. I have them on camcorder doing sychronous slides onto the straight.

They were just having fun not being *****.

If the person behind was followings as close as Mr. Rover was then yes it could be very dangerous.

Controlled sideways fun is safer then aggressive overtaking, almost nuging bumpers and treating it like a race rather than taking other people into consideration and being a little bit curtious.

They seemed to be in complete control which is more than can be said for Mr. Rover and they didn't have 4WD I did not once see them loose it completely (not saying they didn't, just i didn't catch it )

Ok I agree you have a point, I think we could go on about this all day due to our differing opinions. I had a great time with no dents, which I was very happy with. I shall be attending another one and will leave it up to the marshall to decide wether people driving could be classed as dangerous.

I normally pay £80 for trackday cover with Eggar but as it was run via Track Zone it was the higher price of £117. So quite a big jump from the normal rate, just as well the day is cheap.
