anyone know what car JC thinks is best?
Didn't he do a DVD/video where he said the E-Type was the best car of all time?

Yeah until you see the price of the Carlton spares - like £400 brake pads and £1500 brake discs IIRC !

Nah - had a GSi3000 though, bought it just in time for the snow two xmas's ago...
Absolute hoot.
Raced a Lotus Carlton at Goodwood in my 265bhp Calibra Turbo... Reeled the bugger in on the brakes and round the corners (Calibra Turbos may not handle terribly well, but they stick like **** to army blanket)
Out of every corner this thing just cleared off.
Now 265 horse Calibra Turbos aren't slow - 165mph max. But he just wasted me.
Collared him after the session, and he said;
"oh sorry mate, if I'd known we were racing, I'd have taken it out of third gear!!"
Git
Doing the whole thing in one bleeding gear, and loosing a 265 six speed very aerodynamic car on the straights.
Mate had a 6 cylinder M5, chipped and derestricted, just plain scary performance. He bottled it at 170mph, I ran out of brave pills at 185mph - on that private road that runs from Gatwick to Coulsdon.

I thought we weren't talking supercars?
I know one;
A MK3 Capri 2.8i fitted with a Supercharged Swaymar 3.2 Essex on a 4spd bullet box. 345bhp/380lb-ft at the crank.
Standard brakes.
Scary as hell
I speak from experience.
Outruns E36 M3s and Porsche Turbos to 140mph though!!
Again, I speak from experience!!
